    #23340750 - 06/13/16 07:32 PM (7 years, 7 months ago)

Ok so i been growing golden teachers and today noticed some new pins comeing through with off white yellowish colered heads... up to this point all my other mushrooms have grown a golden brown head like normal... what are these whiteish yellowish heads and should i be worried?

Without a photo I can't help you much, your description leaves too much to speculation..
I can help you if you post a pic.

Mushroom cultivation is the forum for these sorts of questions by the way.

The color doesnt concern me its fine as far as I can tell. Next time you birth your cakes dunk them in a bucket of water over night, and then roll them in dry vermiculite... it looks like you skipped that part.

The main thing that concerns me is that you dont appear to have holes in your fruitinh chamber and that's causing FAE issues.

A proper FC for cakes needs to be built to spec... its pretty easy. 1/4" holes in a 2" x 2" grid pattern on all *six* sides, 5" damp perlite in the bottom and the chamber needs to be raised up at the corners... I use mason jars or soup cans at the corners to hold mine up.

So get a drill and get to work!
