More 3D printers. 
I dunno really, maybe cases for electronics bits that have none. I have a 5" HDMI monitor that didn't come with a case for example.

It does seem like most of the stuff people make with them is pretty lame. A CNC milling machine seems like it would be more useful, that way you aren't so limited in the materials you can use.

I have both a CNC and 3D printer. The cheaper ones can only do so much.

definitely sculptures or cool figurines to repurpose into creative diy lighting or something, idk.
It's not something I fully thought about.
What I really want to do is get an Oculus rift so that I can make my own 3d/immersive art in virtual reality.
how amazing would that be?

car parts..... i would replace just about every fucking part of my jeep with a 3d printed part..
could print new vents new veneers all kinds of shit, and you would never have to deal with the parts guy again.

oh god...as someone with a car that's not manufactured in the US....I officially change my answer to car parts. Not that I'd really know how to fix half of the shit, it would still cut down on the amount of time spent waiting for parts to get shipped at least.

A combination hoist/walking suit for old people who have a hard time standing and moving. So they could be mobile and independent again.
It would also hopefully increase their range of motion. And build strength through different levels of passive resistance.

depends on the part and the vehicle. there is also laws and regulations on how things are shipped like air bags...
