Agar Casing?
    #2333680 - 02/14/04 08:51 AM (14 years, 10 days ago)

I understand what you are suppose to do with Agar plates, but i have a question.I have 5 plates all fully colonized with mycelluim of the same strain. Is it possable to put down a bottom layer of verm, then place the colonized Agar on top and then case with verm?Would they grow into shrooms?
I am wondering this because it seems that i have alot better luck with Agar than with jars, never any contams, and they colonize extremely fast,so i f i can just knock up 20 plates and then case them in a week or so it would be great. Is this possable?

yeah you could but it would be a waste, shrooms on agar are small...
the better thing to do is use the agar to innoculate grain and then case the grain so that you have more and larger mushies ... read the FAQ
