thanks anno. That helped a lot. Which on would you suggest doing, the fan method or just putting it into a stove? how long do you put your shrooms in as well?

I wouldn't put them in a stove. Here's what a friend does. He sets the newly picked fruits on a tray in front of some fans for about 24-36 hours. They get pretty dry like that. Then he throws them into a container for another day. Here's how he made his chamber: 1 5 gallon bucket (paint dept Home depot) 1 3 gallon bucket 1 5 gallon bucket cover (you have to buy them seperately, bastards!) 1 damp rid refill and some wire mesh or something similar.
Drill small holes into the bottom of the 3 gallon bucket.... Lots of them. Put the 3 gallon into the 5 gallon. Fill the bottom of the 3 gallon with the damprid. Then put wire mesh ntop of the damprid. Put more wire mesh on top of that (you don't want your mushrooms coming in contact with the damprid). There you go .

My dessicant chamber is a little more simple. I just bought an air-tight Rubbermade container. I through the fan-dried shrooms in and then place a few shot glasses of damp rid in. They are 95% dry when they come out from the fan anyways, so the mesh isn't needed. This works well because it is winter and humidity is low. Summer may be a different story.

Afoaf has done the exact same thing for her first grow. She uses a Nesco FD-60 dehydrator she bought at wallyworld (heating element disconnected) for 2 days, then does exactly as crazychemist says for the final dry. Seems to work fine!

Food dehydrator works perfectly for me. Gets them cracker-crisp in 24 hours or less.
