Yeah, I remember that. I just feel like he took them from random fruits and I assume mush's are from a single cluster. It might not make a difference, there may be an arbitrary/same number of strains present in a cluster vs. single fruit.

That was a great experiment. I remember asking him if he was gonna do another. He said yes, but I think he's on a permanent hiatus now.

Interesting. I'm cIrious to see if either of them perform poorly. Not that I wish you a bad yield, but I kind of want to see an example of someone accidentally transferring away from the prolific fruiting strains of the clone.

It doesnt usually work that way IME. Ive gone through and Isolated each of the sectors of a clone before and fruited them out to compare.... and none of them were radically different from the original culture fruited out.
So I dont worry about it.

When I clone, I just transfer a couple times and store the master plate in the fridge while I fruit it out. Ig its a keeper Ill slant it and hold on to the master plate and keep innoculating my working plates from it untill I need to pull from the slant for a new master.

When isolating from a culture started from spore, then Ill go thru and isolate each individual sector and get 10-20 different isolates to test out, because on a plate from spore each isolate is probably gunna be pretty different and Ill only end up with one or two good ones

Yeah, there seems to be a difference in opinion about isolating clones. In PF's case, some definitely did better than others. Some didn't even pin.

Yea for sure.  Honestly I dont have much of an opinion on it.

I do like to isolate my clones, I like working with isolates, and isolating from clone is pretty fast and easy compared to going through the motions with a spore plate.
Its something I do mostly with clone cultures that I really really like

It has it's advantages. Like if you don't isolate it you could end up doing it accidentaly over time and potentially losing a good fruiter.

The Last fruits that will ever come directly from tissue of this original plate. My baby snowflake.

I actually had cultures of this going for a while. This is the end of it though. I love how in the later generations the fruits take on that wikid looking shape. This is the third flush from this tub. 2:5 spawn ratio CVG with a quart of top layer.

I have taken lots of prints of this culture. I have a new MS tub coming up. I'm looking for clones this time around. Hopefully the MS will give me a nice selection of more prolific clusters.

MS Tub about to pop
