Can I case with Jiffy Mix

Ya'll, I looked around to find the answer to this, but I'm still a little bit confused...

Basically, I want to case some PF cakes in aluminum trays. Can I just do a top layer with Jiffy Mix (my Jiffy Mix is a blend of sphangum peat moss and vermiculite and lime)? Will there be problems with contamination? I'm going to fruit in a PMP. I would use vermiculite, but my Lowe's only had Jiffy Mix (no straight vermiculite) and neither did my Wal-Mart.

Just get the Jiffy Mix really wet (soupy, really) and nuke it for 5 minutes. I use it all the time without any problems.

I agree. Jiffy mix is fine by itself.
