Please tell me how to remove "http://shroomery.org/"
    #2330874 - 02/13/04 12:40 PM (20 years, 3 months ago)

In the Address bar, if I click the little \/ it will show all the sites that I've bothered to type out. How to I clear this? I've messed around in internet options but I can't find something that actually works. Please help, I need to remove this reference ASAP!

yes, i also have had this problem, its no big deal while Im at school, but my home computer still has the address. I tried clearing the history, automatically and manually, resetting my file with list of cookies, nothing seems to get rid of it as far as I can tell.

If you're using Microsoft Internet Explorer:

1. Press TOOLS
2. Press Internet Options
3. Press the 3rd option down, CLEAR HISTORY

Close the browser, then open it back up, hit the "V" and you'll see your history is gone.

You should also delete your cookies while you're at it and set the "Days to keep pages in history" to zero.

This has been done several times, and for some reason, the shroomerys site still stays in the memory, no other sites remain in the history except the shroomerys

Change 'Days to keep pages in history' to 0, I know for a fact this work for at least IE 6, just a indirect way of disabling URL history.

Download a different web browser specifically for this sort of browsing, install it to an obscure directory, and put the shortcut for it in the accessories folder. Chances of anyone stumbling upon your stuff is rather low.

Right-click on the taskbar to bring up the 'taskbar and start menu properties' box. Then click the advanced tab and where it says 'To remove records of recently accessed documents, programs and websites click Clear' click 'Clear'.

If you want to get another browser, you should check out Mozilla. It's what I use, it's pretty good. It's based on Netscape, I think.

I have a program called WindowWasher that saves hard drive space and gets rid of all your history. There are other options, such as deleting file slack space and bleaching it, as in making sure there are no traces left of the file connected to you.

It works excellent and has saved hundreds of megabytes, if not a couple gigs, which it also states how much it's freed up. I think you're supposed to pay for it, but I got it on kazaa or somewhere, it slips my memory.
