so i am setting up my brand new roku 3, and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for channels beyond the usual. i just added soma fm's channel. it's really cool that they have a roku channel.
anyone know of any cool channels on roku that they'd recommend? i'm open to just about anything.

I have a Roku as well and I spend more time browsing around Netflix than actually watching a flick. When all fails I download a torrent and watch it on the roku media player. I did notice a Windows Media Player app that was added recently. I think you set up a network to stream things off your pc. I'd be interested in some suggestions myself.

i'm on a university resnet in my new place. but i was using ps3 media server with my ps3 to stream music, movies, internet radio and comics from my main pc. i can't do that here because of the way our internet is set up in these apartments. but i'm hoping the roku might help with playing my music files.
edit: @ astral - what's a good app for the roku that'll play .flac and stuff like that?

i can't have a router here because of piracy issues. i had a different isp at my old place that i rented one through so it was fine. at this place though it's a different story. it's a huge pain in the ass. that's why i bought the roku actually. i think i can play files through there.

FLAC isn't a supported codec from what I'm reading. I take it you want to use your tv speakers rather than a laptop or phone? Some audio codecs for movies wont play. I wish you could just upload and install them via the micro usb.

yeah, i'd like to play my files through my surround sound system. i have an extra slot on my hdmi box though. i have a laptop with hdmi out that i can use as a dedicated server. i was hoping i wasn't going to have to go that far to be able to play my entire collection in my living room. hmm....
