Cake dunking question.h

SWIM has had her first flush and dunked her BRF cakes last night.
She scraped the sides and top with a fork to roughed up the
mycelium. Is this a recommended idea?

Personally, never scratched a cake in between flushes before dunking. Only picked off any aborts and brushed off the excess verm.

I don't foresee any big issues with scratching but it isn't necessary.

IMO, no good idea. You scratch overlayed casing layers with stroma, and what you scratch is not the sustrate, is the casing layer. A cake is 100% sustrate with no casing layer so scratching will not do any good cause now mycellium has to recover and second flush will be delayed, if it doesn?t get contamed which can happen also.
