No your being a dick.  Just because most of you chose to use a needle.

You can start a thread about your history with opiates but this is a recovery oriented thread.  Like I said not trying to be rude just trying to keep things on topic.

I added Cordyceps and Chaga to my daily regime. They both seem to have an acute and immediate effect. Alleviation of fatigue, sense of well being and a pleasant warmness in the body, noticeably the limbs.
Also just received some Ceylon cinnamon today. I intend to use it for desensitizing insulin receptors/improving the bodies ability to use glucose. After years of drug abuse and even more years living a bad lifestyle, I want to make sure my body has the biggest chance of recovering and growing.

9 weeks.  My dealer called me yesterday morning.  I have no idea what he said really fucking islanders don't know how to english, but it kinda got under my skin that I could still call.  Really thoughtful guys in that crew.  Warms my heart thinking about it.

Just had a dream where I decided I was going to get high because my family left me but it was almost closing time and I was stuck in this funhouse with clown butlers and I couldn't find the way out.  I found the entrance but you couldn't go out through the entrance.  It ended up the only way out was through this weird room where you had to walk on a ledge and someone in the middle knocks everyone off with a water cannon, so I wasn't able to get high.

Oh yeah.  My suicidal impulses have pretty much gone out the window, I laugh alot more, and I can put up with alot more shit.

Still pretty reckless in some ways, but I made it this far so I think I must be doing something right.  I am still on kratom but I only take 1 TBSP 1x/day and never really feel like I need it, but it did enable me to stop with next to no withdrawal so I worry that I will break down when I cut that out.

11 weeks and a day.  Figures I would quit on a monday.  Still not easy, but haven't had that "you're going to fuck up feeling" yet.

The dreams are awful.  Awful.  Not even drug dreams.  I won't get into the details tho that is personal.

Oh yes, the dreams can be very very disturbing sometimes. Completely random stuff, some related to your life.... most not. I still get the occasional horrible bad dreams after being like.... 5 months clean? I don't record the days anymore

Be careful with the drink though Moon! At this stage, you need to deal with PAWS and you CANNOT drink it away! I've drank a few times since PAWS during a few of the bad days and I've never been a massive fan of alcohol but damn.... having a few drinks and getting drunk felt WAY too good. I'm keeping the drink for social occasions, it's such a bad idea drinking on your own when you feel down!

Yeah I've been playing the I'll stop tomorrow game for far too long now.  I've drank every day since I stopped heroin.  There's been a few days I only had like 2 or 3, but mostly pretty heavy, like buying 2 or 3 bottles of whiskey every week.

In my short time in IOP a nice old lady warned me about this very thing.  I told her, "I'm not an alcoholic, I don't even really like drinking." and she told me she was like that at one point too.  The problem is I handle it too well.  I show up for work every day, and have only had the most minor withdrawal some mornings.  I know that wont last forever, and I definitely have a couple health issues cropping up.

Fuckin ell man.

What the fuck man, stop it as long as you still can. You're trading for the worse here.

I'd prefer going back to opioids over that.

Once you're really addicted, you can't just stop. Alcohol is everywhere.
With that you really stay an addict for life.
Fucking stop, you know the deal.

Yeah well I switched to beer at least today.  Instead of getting some takeout after work and coming home to pound like 600 mils of whiskey and post on the shroomery, I just got dank beer and made a nice meal.  It might seem like a small step but it wasn't as easy as it sounds.  I'm gonna keep working on it.

Well I had a relapse on heroin the last few weeks.
The depression always brings me back.
This time around I tried kratom for the WD's and
I must say this plant is a god send.
Been clean off heroin since Sunday Morning, using kratom
and tapering slowly everyday.

Keep at it brother.  nearly 12 weeks thanks to old Uncle Tom.

It is still a struggle, but the worst part was just breaking the habit and changing my thinking.  I haven't really been depressed since, nor sick.  Truly is a blessing.

Its just amazing how long term opiate addiction really alters my neurochemistry.
I feel like I jepordized that portion of my brain where my opioid receptors are.

You're just looking for excuses.  If you got hooked it was already fucked.  You've just got to man up and learn not to puss out and indulge yourself in order to get through the day.
