I was sitting on the couch one day with my friend watching something on TV. I had my huge bong inbetween my legs and a bowl of good weed with dab on top. I had been smoking for 4 or 5 years and the last 6 months nothing but dab. I was maximum high 24/7. Was smoking so much that dab couldnt get me any higher and I stayed there the entire time.
Something awkward happened on TV and I took a hit. Neither of us said anything. When I finished taking the hit I said "Yeah exactly." My friend looked over at me and I realized it was an awkward situation.... so I hit my bong again. He went back to watching TV. A minute goes by... and I say "Yeah." He ignores me this time and I feel awkward. So I hit the bong again. A minute goes by and I say "Yeah exactly." He turns to me and says "Dude I didnt say anything." I feel awkward again and I take another hit. Then I leave the house and walk around.
The next morning when I woke up I thought about what went down.... and I realized that I was using weed to not have to feel. And I got to the point where any amount of insecurity or anything like that I would take a hit if it was there. It was literally stopping me from living my life. This subtle addiction had slowly crept its evil demon hands into my life and taken control.
Over the next 2 years I would start a journey towards permanently quitting weed. It was very difficult. I constantly convinced myself to smoke it again.
Weed is like a rabbit hole. You go into it.... you see marvelous things.... you wake yourself up to things.... but you have to come out of that rabbit hole. Because when you finally do come out... youre in the same spot you were when you went in. Only now youre X years older.
I'm not going to lie to you guys... I wish I was high. I have for years. I think about abusing any substance I can get my hands on. Typically prescription drugs.
But I have LESS regrets. I AM happier. I just have a demon to hold back.

What's the point of quitting cannabis anyway. Cannabinol has a lot of medicinal properties for treating a lot of diseases, and generally it enhances life. I think abstaining completely really has not benefits personally. This is coming from a person who has not partaken in a while due to lack of acess to weed. Also, I only like the highest quality cannabis. I think a lot of the reason people have bad experiences is because they consume a strain with too low of a CBD content. The CBD is a medicinal and antipsychotic and balances out the effects of the THC. Also, I think some strains may be contaminated with pesticides or fertilizers. Everyone should smoke quality organic cannabis. Which I know is difficult because it is illegal in so many states. That is what happens when something is made illegal. My opinion is that this thread demonizes cannabis a little bit. My view is that everyone should smoke the ganja. I think I have a right to question the purpose of this thread, so please don't flame.

Marijuana is a substance with many positive effects - however, it also has its share of negatives. I do not want this thread to be a debate between the two.
I'd like this thread to be for people who feel that the negatives of marijuana are outweighing the positives in their lives - about helping one another quit consumption.
Please, feel free to share your stories about quitting/wanting to quit. Let's come up with plans to help each other stay on track toward our goals amidst the constant pressure to smoke.
Personally, I don't think quality organic cannabis has any negative effects if used reponsibly or in moderation. I have a right to have this opinion and a right to dissuade others from quitting too.

Cannabis is actually a potent psychedelic and can lead to incredible spiritual insights and ego death at high edible doses. I don't think it is a rabbit hole.

Has cannabis smoke been shown to be a lot more healthy than tobacco smoke?
Tobacco smoke is a toxic carcinogenic mixture of thousands of chemicals.

Whenever I take a break from weed it HAS to be cold turkey. Weaning just prolongs the inevitable. But every one is different and if it works for you then great!

I found it difficult to abstain at first myself. After about 4-5 weeks all those cravings went away and now I’m put off by the thought of how much that stuff affected me. Feels like I pulled my head out of my ass for the first time in 20 years. When you feel ready give it another go, I bet you’ll feel good about it after a few weeks have passed

Isn't the more accurate way to say it, "I decided the benefits of getting stoned were greater than the harm."?
You've made decisions and choices to get high. Why confuse the situation?

It's vunerable to get stoned. Socially taboo, illegal or unwanted. But I love it!
It's just not worth risks to my lifestyle at this time. I've learned a lot more about growing it, but being stoned you have to do again to learn about it. Too much and sensativity gets numbed. That's a problem when you must feel it to learn what it's about.
But it got me thru bad times, just not the worst times. It can make you believe fate and fear when perspevtive is an ego game. Weed strengthens the ego. But anything that has power can corrupt. It can also confuse madly. Yet she can give clarity. Suppose what confuses is what seems so clear?

Haven't smoked up in over a year. Cannot say if I feel better or worse, but i can see reality for what it is, and frankly it is depressing. Munchies and sky high blood sugar don't mix well.

Let's be clear. Reality is not depressing. In the face of reality, you choose to depress.
That's your decision. You have that right . . . But don't blame reality. It's all on you.

Yea reality isn't depressing if you have hobbies that you enjoy and can work on for a long time with no pressure/stress. Also having good friends and staying in touch with family helps make life better. Be nice to every one. Good karma will come your way if you do. Also having a decent job with decent pay helps. If you don't have a decent job then maybe you should work towards getting one.

I could use some support right now.I'm about to run out of weed for the 1st time in a year and a half. I've been a multiple times a day smoker for that time and the grip it has on me is ridiculous. I'm gonna miss the hell out of it
