I feel that it's easy to quit weed and not smoke if you have good things going for you, and/or if you are actively working towards something you are passionate about.

Focus on improving yourself and then you will forget about weed.

@Rosen_Rot,

I used to be in your shoes.  I feel a little foolish thinking about those days when I was addicted to marijuana.
The first step to quitting is to throw away all of your smoking tools.  All your bowls, your bongs, your papers, your grinders, etc.
Having friends that smoke is also very distracting when you want to quit.  You need to stop hanging out with them as much.  It's a hard choice to make, but you need to make yourself a better you.
We all have our own path in life.  Perhaps you need to get off the path your friends are on and make your own path.  It will suck not hanging with them, but it is worth it.  I've done it.

I know you want to quit and you do, too.  So just do it, dude!  Throw away all of your smoking tools.  Delete your dealer's number.

Exercise.  Exercise releases feel-good chemicals.  Eat healthy to also make yourself get more feel-good chemicals.
Buy big bags of broccoli and make fat bowls of the stuff.  It's so healthy.  Stop eating fast food and stop drinking soda.  Cook chicken with spices in the pan with butter and add the broccoli to it.

I'm here for you.  I've been in your shoes and I was not doing well in life.  I was skipping classes like crazy, getting bad grades.  I have since graduated and have a great life and I smoke once every few months.  Moderation is fantastic.  Don't let weed be the focus of your life. It ruins the fun.

Growing shrooms isn't helping your weed situation, IMO.  Idk about you but once I have shrooms I want some weed to go with it.
Maybe you should get rid of ur shroom grow and just go sober.  Get your brain chemicals naturally balanced.  it will take a few days to start feeling a little normal, you probably will barely sleep during that time, wake up sweating, but it's worth it in the end.

After not smoking for a few days you'll start to feel brain processing improve.  Short term memory will return.  When you smoke everyday do you remember what you did all day or is it one blur?  When I stopped I was SHOCKED after a week or two at how much my short term memory improved.  I actually got high from that feeling, and I was sober.

Being sober will give you more energy and a new found freedom and confidence.

Having no money sucks.  Save that shit up and stop buying weed.  you need some money in case something bad in happens in life, for example, medically.  Think about your future.  Stop thinking about the now and getting blasted.  It's fun for a while, but you've overstayed your visit.  Time to move on.

I'm here for ya

Trying to "improve" myself caused me so much stress, I smoked for relief.

When I abandoned trying to be a "better" person, I was able to break free.

When I accept myself and life totally, without resistance, I can live in peace.

Deep in our heart there is nothing we need to "improve".

That is a big load of bullshit.
Every one can always improve.  If you can't improve then you must be perfect, and no one is perfect.
Are you a good friend?  Do you treat your parents with respect?
Do you help peopple around you?
Do you have a good job?
ARe you healthy, physically and mentally?
Are you happy when you look in the mirror?
Do you go to sleep at night feeling content?
Are you always high when you go to sleep?

This is a marijuana abstinence thread.
Do you know what "abstinence" means?  Look it up.
Your posts are poisoning this great thread.  If you keep it up I will report you.
This is your only warning.

Quitting cold turkey is the best way to quit weed.
Quitting weed doesn't make you an asshole; you make yourself an asshole.
Think about what you say from now on.  Don't blurt out everything.
Use your new found mental clarity from abstaining from weed to figure out how to make you the best version of yourself.

Yea weed can do that, but it won't last for more than a handful of days.
You'll be fine, just gotta keep doin' things and have a little patience.

When I really quit weed the first time it was hard.
Every time I quit since then is easy and I barely think about it.

Channel that craving you have into physical exercise and the craving will go away.
Your body wants to get those brain chemicals going again, and it's waiting for weed, since it's used to it.  Give your brain what it wants by exercising and gettin' the chemicals flowin' without a drug to induce.

Sounds like a great choice.
I love that term "master reset."  I am going to use it if that's cool.

My brother just got sent to rehab for the first time.
I am thinking of stopping all my drug use for a while for when he gets out because I want to show him the path he needs to be on.

I've quit weed several times, my longest break being five months.
The experience of quitting weed and entering back into a sober mind, to me, is a high in itself.  I usually get rushes of pleasure in my sober mind for a few weeks throughout the day because I'm happy to be off weed and getting connected to myself again.

1. The benefits I get from quitting:

  • Greatly improved memory
  • Healthier lungs
  • Greatly improved energy
  • Inspiration to better myself
  • Urge to exercise and be healthy
  • I feel smarter and mentally sharp
  • I find myself smiling more in every day life

2. I notice the said benefits as early as day 1 of no weed.  The benefits usually increase in intensity for a few weeks until they plateau.

3. What helped me get these benefits is quitting weed, not hanging around people as much who smoke a lot of weed, exercising consistently, having life goals to work towards, healthy diet.

4. It's always 100% worth it.  I usually will ride the sober train for a few weeks or months, and then I'll eventually tell myself that I've been good with controlling my urges for weed, I control myself and weed doesn't control me.  At that point I feel perfectly fine with using weed again once in a while.

Ohh gotcha.
Well, besides exercising, I do tend to sometimes drink decaffeinated tea in the evenings before bed while sober.  It really calms me and puts me in a content space and eliminates any urges to smoke.
Sometimes if I feel a void I will call a friend I haven't talked to in a while just to see how they're doing.
Or I will work on one of my music tracks, or just masturbate

Once I finally get to the point where I want to 100% stop smoking weed, I find it very easy to deny any compulsions to smoke. Just saying "no" if offered makes me content.  So, to answer your last question, it takes me not long at all.  The hardest part for me is that first night's sleep with no weed.  I always have the worst sleep of my life   I turn and writhe in bed for hours usually, and get very shotty sleep.  I'd recommend having no major plans the day after your first night's sleep without weed, otherwise you might appear a little off to others, which you might not care about.  I usually feel a little nauseous.  Don't forget to try to eat a little throughout the day.  On the bright side, I always wake up early the next morning and have a weird sober energy that helps me go on with my day without weed.  And it only gets easier from there every night, sleep wise.

I highly recommend taking some melatonin to help you sleep for those first few nights without weed.  Then your body will naturally reach equilibrium and will produce its own melatonin while sober.

You say you're "currently" disabled.  Does that mean you won't be disabled after some time?

How old are you?
My brother also has bad shoulders that dislocate very easily.
He dislocated one of his shoulders last week while opening a car door to get out.

and nice man!  That first night is the worst.  I'm glad you're feeling good without the herb!

Mmmkay, jw.
That's gotta be quite the scare upon waking up!
My brother dislocates a shoulder every month or two while getting in/out of bed.
He saw a doctor about it a while ago and the doc said his shoulders are the worst he's ever seen.  He hasn't had any surgery yet on them.
it s ucks that you got a dislocation even after having surgery, though nine years is a while to not have one.

And that's great you feel all those things on day four of no weed.  I forgot to mention this before but I find that I become more humorous when I'm not smoking.
What did you trip on?  Shrooms or LSD?
Yea, maybe your body/mind weren't fully prepared for a strong trip due to them still adjusting to life without weed.  If you tripped again in a few weeks I bet you'd have a better experience.

Whenever I take a break from weed it HAS to be cold turkey.
Weaning just prolongs the inevitable.
But every one is different and if it works for you then great!

Yea reality isn't depressing if you have hobbies that you enjoy and can work on for a long time with no pressure/stress.
Also having good friends and staying in touch with family helps make life better.
Be nice to every one.  Good karma will come your way if you do.
Also having a decent job with decent pay helps.  If you don't have a decent job then maybe you should work towards getting one.

I know that awareness feeling you speak of.
I love that feeling.
I feel mentally adroit and quick/witty when not using weed.
Also, my memory gets 100x better when I'm not using weed.

Good job, Big_dub!  I've only smoked weed for a few days in a row and that's it in the last two and a half years.
My girlfriend at the time offered to bring some over and I said, "sure."
She gave me a few grams when she left the next day and I smoked it over a few days.
