I enjoyed how the Arya going west thing essentially a reference to the whole cycle starting again on the wheel of time.
Arya is heading west in the footsteps of Elissa Farman who we have to thank for the plot line of the entire plot actually happening.
Elissa Farman was a noble woman who lived about 200 years before the events of A Song of Ice and Fire, She was the secret lesbian lover of the princess Rhaena Targaryen.
Long story short, Elissa was bread for adventure and Rhaena wanted to stay put after years of galavanting around Westeros with Elissa. Elissa wanted to go west, beyond the sun set sea but Rhaena forbid it, leading Elissa to do the unthinkable, steal 3 dragon eggs from Rhaena and leave.
Again, long story short, Elissa sold the dragon eggs across the sea in Pentos for fund to build the legendary ship, the Sunchaser. Elissa goes west and is never seen again... kinda. Years later her ship the Sunchaser was found in the black city of Asshai, by the Shadow, the furthest point East in the Known Worlds, Meaning Elissa made it west, found new lands, and went all west and found the east.
But ya, all the events of the series were set in motion by Elissa stealing the eggs, which Illyrio Mopatis gives to Dany in season one and catch to the dragons we all know and love.
There is a lot I’m leaving out, I’ll probably post a thread about this in the near future.

I cannot believe that game of thrones ended like that.. the writers gave up.. that or they didn't have a book already written to work around. It was just wrapped up, or even better crumbled up and thrown in the trash. Feel like it could of been at least 9 episodes and take time to have a solid ending.
At least it's not as much of a let down as Lost.

To you personally those shows have "incredibly boring subject matter".
To millions those shows apparently didn't have incredibly boring subject matter.

It would be a solid ending for any normal fantasy. Far too hopeful for game of thrones
Poor John. He looked sad. He got fucked by his cunty little brother. The unsullied left anyway.
We got the pet everyone wanted. Guess John gets to be a wildling. Them disappearing into the woods was pretty nice
Better than 3-5

Finally got around to watching it, wow pretty bad. Not even sure what to say. Zero explanation for any real plot line.
The dragon just flies off, jon fucks off to ice fish again, arya wants to sail the world, sansa cockblocks brand and everyone seems to to roll with it. The whole 3 eyed raven line was shit compared to the books and doesn't make and sense in the end.
Sigh, such is mass media.

Yep.
They crumpled up some major plots just to wrap up the series and seal it shut.

No mention of Jon being a Targaryen at the end. No mention of Bran being the 3 eyed raven instead of "Bran". Nothing with Arya having to deal with the faceless people she betrayed.
I love that it started and ended with the Starks. That's a good beginning and end but they did it horribly.

Why was the Night King so obsessed with Bran anyways?

I thought that the Bran = the Night King theory was going to culminate into something, but it never did.

Acaterpillar said: Why was the Night King so obsessed with Bran anyways?
"The Night King was a First Man who was captured by a tribe of the Children of the Forest. Leaf, who was among the group, pressed a dragonglass dagger into his chest, causing his eyes to turn blue and turning him into the first of the White Walkers. Thousands of years later, Leaf tells Bran Stark that her people created the White Walkers to defend themselves when Westeros was invaded by the First Men, who were cutting their sacred trees down and slaughtering the Children of the Forest. However, the White Walkers soon turned on their creators and began what was known as the Long Night. Though the Long Night ended upon the First Men and Children's victory in the War for the Dawn, the Night King survived and retreated with the rest of his forces to the Lands of Always Winter, where they hid as they faded into legend and obscurity. "
Sam: "What does he want?" Bran: "An endless night. He wants to erase this world, and I am its memory."
Bran is da connection to the Children of the Forest who created the White Walkers - and is imbued with the powers/memories by the three-eyed raven ... the show does a shoddy job in the later seasons of upholding this though.
