Second flush - dunk or cold shock?

After a largely successful first flush, is it better to dunk the cakes, or would a simple cold shock do the trick? (ie, wrapping the cakes and placing them in a clean fridge overnight)
At the moment (approximately 3 days after being cleaned and placed back into the terrarium), having not been dunked or anything, they're beginning to pin again.. but not with nearly as much vigor as the first flush. This seems like it would be normal.. but I'm not sure.
I'm a beginner.. so .. any help would be greatly appreciated.

These are basically different solutions to separate problems, but can be combined to great effect.
Dunking will rehydrate your cakes after giving their all to your first flush. Cold shocking is a pinning tactic for stubborn bastard cakes and casings.
Dunking overnight in the fridge is pretty standard, but mostly your cakes want some water. Dunk 'em, always dunk 'em.

Thanks guys... one last question about this: Will dunking/cold shock harm the pins that have already begun to form on the cakes?
also.. you guys should see this shroom on one of the newer cakes I just birthed a few nights ago. It's like 10 inches long and the veil hasn't even broken yet!

Remove the pins before you dunk.
