as long as you have enough water so that it won' t run dry it doesn't matter

Yea it is ok for the water to touch the jars. Make sure not to submerge them or to let them get waqter in the top under a boil.

my PC got some gritt in the emerg. pressure release valve and busted a bunch of my jars. !now im scared to fire the sucker up! i just wanna boil and play it safe. my PC was motherfucking small anyways. yea, thats right.

Hmmm....boiling, not recommended. You need the pressure dude.
I've tried boiling 11 jars, only threee colonized, the others got that wet bacteria shiat. But , if you don't mind wasting spores and time, and effort, take a risk!
