I like it.
Brandon's changed his timbre, he sings a lot higher, and lots of falsetto on this cd, which... i guess i like, but not as much as how he used to sing. The music is cool, lot more jazzy and funky. Although it only took them 5 weeks to record the whole thing, sometimes it shows, sometimes it seems like they've been working on this for a year. The bassist shines on this cd, as does the guitarist (as usual). The new bassist played in The Roots, which is fuckin tight.

The DVD is pretty funny too, if you got it.

I've noticed the higher singing and more jazzy/funky sounds. It's actually pretty cool for Incubus to change directions a little.

Incubus has changed direction with EVERY album they've released, heh. It's like.. Make Yourself is 50% SCIENCE, 50% "new".  Morningview is 50% Make Yourself, 50% new. A Crow Left Of Murder is like 40% Morningview, 135% new...

I really like it, though. I think the changes are all for the best, as usual.

- Mike has gotten really nuts with some of the riffs on this CD, I've only figured out one so far.

- The new bassist rocks.

- Brandon's strange singing style has gotten even stranger, which I enjoy.

Does anyone else get the feeling from Incubus like you're watching a movie when you listen to some of the songs? I don't know how to explain it, it's like they're so good at "coloring" their music with emotion that it seems like it would be good in a soundtrack.

I can't wait to trip to this, Incubus is my favorite band to trip to. They're awesome guys, and their albums are like going on a journey when taken with mushrooms. The fact that all their albums are so different makes it so all the journeys are very different, which rocks.

Okay, I'm stoned, rambling.. I really like this CD though.

I like it , I smoked some cannabis with a friend the other day and we sat and listened to it the whole way through, and like before Incubus earned my respect.

I like alot of music but Incubus are ONE OF the bands that I really respect, through and through.

Real talent and emotion, real poetry shines through wether the music is heavy or soft , funky or mellow.

and incubus delivers

I've only heard it once and i've got nothing against Incubus but the new album seems kinda derivative to me. It's like some of the sings were intentionally written as a tribute to other bands. For instance, one of the songs was most definately stylized after faith no more. It sounded just like a song off of the King for a Day... album or something. The rhythm section and especially the vocals were dead ringer for Faith No More. There was also a song that reminded me of The Mars Volta.

I don't like it. I feel like they've taken a step back, especially having lost their original bassist - who was amazing, much better at writing bass lines than his replacement from the Roots.

Anyway.. that's just my 2 cents..

I'm not a big Incubus fan, but I do like them. I saw them at Lollapalooza, and they performed great. My friend let me borrow Make Yourself and Morning View, and that's all I've heard of Incubus so far. I liked Make Yourself a lot, but Morning View didn't seem to be that great.

One thing I'll say--it's a travesty that Mike Einziger is often left off of modern guitar great lists.

it's an album that get's better every time you listen to it, and that says alot.

and yeah, mike rips some shit up on this one. the verse riff for the title track or the solo for sick sad little world, shit. he's getting to the point were he can compete, in my mind, with tom morello as the most inovative mainstream rock guitar player activley puting out records.

yeah, he's really creative for the type of music he plays. Morning view wasn't that good in my opinion, SCIENCE and fungus amongous are definitely cds everybody should check out if they haven't. I still haven't listened to any new stuff though...

You know, I haven't listened to these songs in months, but I can't manage to get "The Warmth," "I Miss You," or "Privilege" out of my head at times... mostly Mike's guitar lines.
