Pyrex tray fully colonized
    #23203730 - 05/08/16 08:28 PM (8 years, 8 months ago)

Hey shroomery-folks!

I'm so new I haven't fruited yet. I've done a g2g from spore to 2nd transfer, and I've read everything I can get my hands on.

A human hurriedly handed a paper sack with a Pyrex tray full of straw AND cased with an unknown. Rubber lid has two holes stuffed with polyfil. Fiji is written on the lid. I can't get in touch with this person and the tray is fully colonized, though I haven't lifted the lid. Here's my question:

Can I break up the myc and start a monotub? Or should I just open the lid and fruit it out?

My problem is that I can't cut breathing holes in the side of the pyrex. Any advice?

How big is the pyrex dish?
If you have a sgfc, you can pop the lid off of the dish and fruit it in there.

If you have a larger and taller than the pyrex dish plastic container laying around, you  can punch 1/4" holes every 2inches on all 5 sides. Throw that upside down over the pyrex dish like a holed dome, and mist and fan as needed.

Reall depends how big the dish is. We can get creative here.

Either way I'd fruit it and wait for your g2gs to finish and do a monotub with those

Step 1: make sgfc to spec
Step 2: put tray with lid off into sgfc made to spec
Step 3: mist as needed
Step 4: harvest mushrooms

Haha ya beat me to it! Damn slow fingers

Pyrex is 12"x 8"x 2"deep. Thanks for the responses. I'll be fruiting soon...hopefully in time for solstice. :mushroom2:
