Pan cambo being slow to show

Hi, So I knocked up 12 half pint jars uhh Monday night with MS Panaeolus cambogeniensis "Sandose". Substrate is WBS, with some rabbit manure, plus a little oyster shell & gypsum. Temps 80-86, kept in dark. 6 days, no sign of colonization. I thought pans were fast... Am I just being impatient? I've never gotten them to fruit successfully, but I swear I've started pans before, and jars had good bit of fluff going even just after 1 week. Thoughts?? Thanks!

Spores can take anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks. Pans are often stubborn compared to other species IME. Give em some time.

Sounds like he is doing something similar to muda's bulk containers or macmerdins pan cakes. I did pans like that once. Just can't make em too deep.

Pans are definitely stubborn. Took 5-6 weeks to colonize my Sandose 250ml PF jars. 4/12 didn't even germinate :/
Decided to expand to 8 whole Oat pints. Then poo bags this week. They really do so much better in fluffy / loose environment.

Word thanks. I'll give it some time. I was gonna post some pics once there's something exciting to show! Yeah I was gonna just do small containers; go Wbs half pint jars each to individual manure sandwich containers like 4x4x2.5"tall, only filled halfway... Placed inside tote with perlite and polyfill holes. Leave the lid on sandwich container for 10 days then off with lights 12/12 n FAE sched.will post pics and more deets soon.

Any experience with the rabbit poo? I've tried with some hpoo before, was great for my garden, but it was very dense, I knew from the beginning it wasn't going to work for this stuff... This rabbit poo is much better texture, but I don't hear much of its use.

This hobby is an exercise in patience. At least until you get multiple projects on the go.
Best of luck, and welcome to Shroomery!

Can't get any more Canadian than that statement
Some poo can be a little 'hot' but I think those sources are typically not from mammals. Rabbit is likely fine, as they dine on alfalfa and grass.
Aged / leeched for excess ammonia if it smells bad

Shit, tell me about it. I've been going crazy trying to germinate some pan spores on agar. I hate spore solutions.
