Non aggressive green mold?
    #23199941 - 05/07/16 07:03 PM (8 years, 8 months ago)

So a friend is using a automated system with 2 cased trays and pretty much as it started pinning a 1/4inch patch of green showed up on the casing, a syringe with bleach was tactically applied and it turned black after a couple hours and was removed and h202 was sprayed around the area. Again after 2 days a even smaller patch came back in the same spot (probably because h202 wouldn't do anything upon further research) and it was bleached  again. Pins are going great, no green anywhere else on either tray 5 days after original sighting.  Am I stupid not to toss these? There is significant FAE, about 15 complete air exchanges per 24h via filtered aquarium pumps, could these be preventing aggressive growth or is it possible to have "different" green mold that isn't tric?

It will never go away. The best way to fight it is preventing it. Get that away from your grows ASAP. If you want to try fruiting it, you can try outdoors.

Aquarium pumps arent FAE. Do you have an SGFC? If not, you should think about it. That stagnant air could very well be your main problem.

I'm not sure why a diaphragm aquarium air pump wouldn't be FAE? And if it's not FAE why is the casing pinning considering that's the only source of air. The outside temp is around 15 celcius at night and 20 degrees during day, could they still fruit in these conditions?

Yes you can fruit in those temperature conditions albeit slowly. The pump simply won't provide the pins the FAE they're going to need to mature, honestly. Poke holes and stuff polyfill, or something. Do you have a pic of the FC setup so I can give my honest diagnosis?

The system was created because winter is unpleasantly cold. It's a foam lined box with a foam resoviour box with the air pumps, heater if needed and electrical for the LEDs , gauges and whatnot. The negative air pressure pulls though a furance filter then the pumps put air into the fruiting chamber and disperse through a series of holes on the back. 2 stainless trays with hydro balls regulated the humidity between 90 and 100 percent controlled by the air flow into the chamber. Everything is on timers and doesn't require a lot of attention. It's been working great and there still is no sign of contamination a after the second bleaching. I'm considering recommending to my friend to take it into the garage and finish fruiting to avoid pumping whatever remaining spores from the green into his house. I'll see about getting pics this evening.
