Does anyone have any success using a modified pf tek substrate?
Are there are different techniques or ingredients that improved your results?

I have not tried modifying it personally, but I am wondering what provoked you to ask.
Have you had sub par results using the regular method?

Have you even tried the non-modifed pf tek substrate? Why would you want to modify it? If it ain't broke don't fix it. Some people say that pf cakes are already "on steroids" as it is. BRF is really the best thing you can use, no need to fuck around and complicate things.

I haven't seen any major problems yet that couldn't be fixed later on. I've noticed mainly that cakes tend to get dried out fast. I've also had a difficult time estimating when a cake is done consolidating. Maybe adding some D.E. could help this?

Are you dunking and rolling? BRF is crazy nutritious, almost too much so. But the PF tek is that way bc it consistently gets results even from being steamed. If you start adding stuff like grains or anything, you'll either need to be steaming much longer, or you'll need a PC.
