Thanks. I'll look around and see if I can find coir at a local gardening store or maybe wal Mart if I'm lucky. I'm trying to keep my online purchases to a minimum, shipping is murderous. All together I'm trying to avoid pasteurizing buckets full of crap. Mycohaus carries bags with grain and all the goodies already sterilized but I can't find any solid info as to how efficient they are, and I have a feeling that I wouldn't get the results I'm after with them anyway. I wish I had the money to try all the teks but I've got to go as cheap and simple as I can till I can get the ball rolling.

Then you are better off learning to it yourself, this website is gunna rob you blind have you pay 50$ for 5$ worth of material

I agree with you on them being a rip off, but for this first grow it's the way I'll have to go. I can't afford a pc jars and all the material this time around. Long run it'd be much cheaper for me to go completely DYI but it'd take me way to long to buy everything (I don't want to miss out on festi season) so I've got to go with presterilized material this go around or I won't have anything by the next fest.

There is a very big possibility you are going to end up with nothing going this route.

Its not as easy as these vendors would like you to think. If everything was perfect, it might be like they say... inject spores into grains through port , let colonize, mix with substrate etc

For example they dont tell you that very few cultivators inoculate grains from spore syringe. They just arent clean enough. Spore sgringes were meant for the more forgiving BRF cake.

I sugguest you take your time, do the proper research, and do things right instead of fast!

PF tek is an excellent way to get going without having to by a PC.

Once you get some fruits, you can make prints and not have to buy syringes anymore.

Thanks, until you said something I had assumed the PF tek required a pc because up till now all the PF teks I've read in the past were updated and had left steam sterilizing out, or I forgot about it entirely, it's been a few years since I read one and my assumption(and we all know what they say about assuming) was why I scrapped the idea of doing it that way in the first place. I'll probably order a bag or 2 purely for experimentation. Wouldn't a monotub work just as well as a dual chamber FR?

I've definitely done a good job at getting teks mixed together, but that's why I started this post. Better to get it all straightened out before I go and spend my hard earned money just to be disappointed

The dual chambered terrarium that is suggested in the original PF tek

Disregard that, that's my "I've read too much and it's running together" showing again lol. I'll just stick with the good ole PF tek and SGFC for now until I know what I'm doing.

Ok so this should be my only question concerning PF teks. I've seen this qiestion asked a few times with no clear answer and some of the teks I've read don't clarify or they conflict. When I go to steam sterilize my jars do I leave the lids loose or tight?

This is a bit of info passed down from noobs to noobs.

The lids have holes in them, therefore there is no need to have the lids loose.

What this would accomplish is the same thing the holes accomplish.

I figured as much, better safe than sorry though. Thanks for all the help and patience with my redundant questions. Hopefully the next time I'm posting I'll be showing progress on my grow instead of playing 20 questions lol.

Ok so I thought I was done with the questions but I've got one more that I can't find an answer to. I know there isn't a definite answer to this but what is the typical time frame from birth to last flush (at room temp). I want to minimize the amount of SGFCs and jars and just be able to consistently rotate 1 or 2 FCs
