Thought -> Action -> Habit -> Character -> Destiny.

That is all :eek:

lol. I dont know man, i thought about that too. When Phluck brought up the whole "free will" is bullshit, i got the impression that the view was that you didnt necessarily have to not have free will to have destiny to be true. But maybe destiny operates in the sense that yeah its free will, but regardless, you are going to end up doing whatever that is your going to do.

BTW, i had a dream i was racing you in this car game last night. lol, sorry, i just thought you should know :wink: .

Hmmm.  Good points, good foundation, whatever you want to call what you did, Ed.  So you can change your destiny, if you're headed toward a destiny that you would prefer to avoid, by going back and changing yourself at any given point along the way before you reach your destiny.

who won?

I don't know if this means free will or determinism, I just thought it was neat when I heard this biblical scholar say

Sow a thought, reap an action
Sow an action, reap a habit
Sow a habit, reap a character,
Sow a character, reap a destiny.

Yes. If you think about something long enough, you may end up doing it. If you do it long enough, you form a habit. Eventually, it leads to your destiny.

Insert an "I think" mentally in front of eveything I say that seems sketchy, because I certainly don't KNOW much. Also; feel free to yell at me.

Terence Mckenna often mentioned that we're all writing this story called history, and that if you want, you could write yourself in as "an extra," or you can be a protagonist, and write in all sorts of drama, action, adventure, love, whatever!

And to add a quote from the oh-so-useful Waking Life, "And so many think because then happened, now isn't. But didn't I mention? the ongoing *WOW* is happening right now. We are all co-authors of this dancing exuberance, for even our inabilities are having a roast. We are the authors of ourselves, co-authoring a gigantic Dostoevsky novel starring clowns."
<- "*WOW*"
