Is freezing a mushroom an effective way to save it for later agar?

Simple question I can't seem to find the answer to. I don't have the materials or setting to do an agar process currently. However this flush needs to be picked, and there is a mushroom in that batch I want to save.
Is there a better way to save this mushroom for a later agar plate?
Thank you for reading and the answers~!

If you can get the supplies for agar within a week, you can keep it in a paper bag in the fridge and then take a tissue sample.

Any reason why you would recommend a paper bag over a plastic ziplock? I'm not sure if I have any paper bags. @PussyFart

It will decompose much quicker in plastic. Definitely do not freeze if wanting to clone.

Wrap it loosely in some parchment or something. You just need some airflow around it, but not too much or your fridge will dry it out.
