monotub questions

I'm getting ready to do some monotubs soon. I'm going to 105q sterilites. I'll be using mazatapec APE and golden halo. Mazatapac and Ape will be first in the tub. I am currently growing APE and mazatapec pf style from ms syringe. Golden halo is from a spore print that I inoculated agar and in the next hour or so I will make a transfer. I'm quite surprised by golden halo as I started agar yesterday morning and tonight there's mycelium coming from my inoculation loops scrape. Anyway back on topic. I'm planning on cloning my best fruits from my pf tek to agar then agar to grain to bulk. The golden halo will not be isolated just cleaned then grain to bulk. I plan on using a 1-3 grain spawn ratio. I will prep 14q grain spawn per tub. I'll use composted manure straw verm coffee with 10% gypsum. I've done bulks before. My biggest tubs so far have been 96q. Since I only have to buy the verm I'd like to really push my grows. I could go as high as a 1-4 ratio very easy. My question is how deep can my substrate be? My tubs are 13 inches tall. Is there anything wrong with 8 inch substrate? I used to keep my substrate at 4 inches but that was because I had to pay for everything. I'll be using foomans wbs tek. Im pastuerizing in jars on the stove as per RR.

8 inches is too deep for a monotub. It will get too hot. Nice username

Thanks azur! Nice avatar! OK so 6 inches at the most. And as far as gypsum I think I read RR says 10% is acceptable. Most use 5% gypsum. I only mentioned 10% because I might go as high as 15% coffee and don't know how acidic my substrate will be. I will be using litmus paper to give me an idea of pH. I will only add gypsum until my pH is between 5.5-6.5. Oh all my ingredients are dry already.

I'll stick to four inches on these until I'm used to the size. And I know this has been asked but after pasteurization, can I just tighten the lid to keep out contams? I'm asking because I have to do everything at night or early morning when everyone's asleep(we have a small kitchen its a bitch doing anything while everyone's awake). I can only run 7 jars in my pc. I wanted to pasteurize 42 jars. In order for me to do that I would need three days of 7 jars in the am and pm. Is 4 days to long to wait to spawn to bulk? If so I'll suck it up and do them in 2 days. I'll just be in everyone's way if I do it non stop in one day. Trying to avoid that.
