Is a 7 hour soak long enough for WBS?

Will 7 hours do?

yep. But its best to boil them either as bulk or in there jars with water 1/2 up siting in a boiling pot for about an hour. The shells crack and expand another 20% or so and its a much better substrate, containing more water and the nutrients are more exposed with them cracked.

Soaking is not necessary with WBS, I have never soaked once.

A quick rinse under the tap and a 45 minute simmer is all that is needed, drain for atleast 30 mins, pop in jars hey presto, perfectly hydrated WBS.

Hope that saves you some trouble.
