I'm not sure about this particular spot against the wall. Contamination or just more pins getting ready to push through?

Looks like mycelium producing metabolites due to some altercation with bacteria or mold.... should still pull through okay, had a tub do that recently, wasn't the end of the world.

Had to leave earlier. Temps are all over lately. The place I showed is a little bigger. Had a lot of condensation when I got back home. Gave it a good fan and going to keep an eye on it. It's the edge of the tub but I can see a good cluster under it. Hope it pushes through.

Looks a little better or it hasn't gotten worse at least. The sub isn't nearly as wet on top either. With outside temps being so drastic the temp inside is up and down a lot. From ac to heat. Windows open and closed. Location is pretty well consistent but still has 10° changes lately. I know monotubs are supposed to be somewhat set it and forget it but there's definitely maintenance involved. any how the pic in my first post is what it looked like when I noticed it. The pic on the left of how it looks this morning. The pic on the right side last night. Anyhow I'll keep an eye on it. Keep things posted.

Is that coloration under any holes or anything? I wonder if it could be caused by rough airflow, like from a fan, or a nearby heater drying it out. Just a thought. It doesn't appear to affect your pins by it though, so that's good.

Yeah it's near one of the bottom holes. Of the whole tub it does look drier there. not enough that I want to try misting that small place alone and do possible damage to the bigger tub. I did turn the tub..will it help? Right now I'm just trying to mess with it as little as possible.

No, just try and stick a little more poly into that hole to help that spot retain humidity. It should start to come back after a little while.

So I'm not really too concerned at this point. It seems like the spot in question isn't growing. Looking at the pics it's changed from lighter to darker brown and back lighter fairly regularly. More than anything now I'll just keep this thread alive until harvest for any other noobs like myself to compare to. Here's how it looks this morning.

That is what happens when myc dries out, it either bruises or goes brown. If I had a nickel for every time ive seen it, I'd have at least a loonie :P

It's such a small place..nearly impossible to mist just that small spot. I stuffed a little more poly in the hole. I know it can take 24hrs plus to see differences after adjusting so just watching to make sure it doesn't change any other colors at this point.

IME once it goes brown, it stays brown. No need to restrict fae for it. I'd just keep doing what you're doing and ignore that spot. It's retardedly common to see, especially around the edges with big pinsets.

Glanced at it again..it's lightened up a bit. Regardless the rest of the tub looks like this sooooo not gonna sweat too much.
