For all your hay chopping needs---->
    #2319167 - 02/09/04 09:05 PM (13 years, 10 months ago)

Use a paper cutter with a pillowcase setup to catch the falling hay, we're talking uniform 1 inch pieces. And if you like to rush things I suggest a heavy dutty work glove on the feeder hand.

Normally I wouldnt bother posting, but it just doesnt get any easier than this IMO

Just spent a full hour cutting straw with regular scisors. Now my right hand hurts and i'm still wondering if I cut enough of it.

Wish I had some better tools...

A weed whipper inside a plastic tub works like magic too. No effort involved either.

Had a friend who recently tried that and it really chopped the stuff really fine. He probably chopped it a little too much cause most of straw was completely crushed and once packed in a log, it is probably too tight and myc is having a hard time colonizing everything...

If done properly, it has to be better than my painful technique. haha
