Old nasty grains. Good for the garden?
    #23188381 - 05/04/16 11:25 AM (8 years, 8 months ago)

Not sure if this would be better suited for the gardening forum but...
I just emptied a bunch of old jars from last year to clean em out. There was a slip of old wet grains from last year. I dont think they were ever inoculated but im not really sure as I had alot going on last year. Ig anything and they were they were at least contamed. But no signs of that really. Just a bunch of slop. The smell smells like butthole pretty much. Just a very pewtrid odor. I just as well throw em out but wonder if anyone might have experience or know if maybe theyd be good to take into my garden beds for this years growing season.

Grains are great for the garden. First they take in a bit of nitrogen when decomposing further but then release a ton so its best to sow them in the garden several weeks before you plan to plant anything.
