2 of 3 Treasure Coast have fruits 0 of 3 PE, contaminants?
    #23186990 - 05/03/16 11:37 PM (8 years, 8 months ago)

Two of my three TC trays started pinning while in colonizing mode. So all 3 TC and all 3 PE trays went to fruiting conditions for better or worse.
None of my PE have pinned, but the semi casing layer on all 3 PE were colonized more than any of the TC, which can be expected I assume (bad word.)
I  don't think there are any contaminants on third TC tray, just different internal clocks (What do I know).  The PE has mycellium on the surface, around 30%, but it's very light and fluffy, 2 have a few metabolites, sub is pulling away from walls.  No pinning.  I put everything into FC 3 days ago when the 2 TC trays started pinning, for better or worse.
It smells like very fresh...dirt. RR said long ago, dirt smell is bad..in so many words.
Setup for fruiting is 3 SGFCs, 2 trays in each, 2 in one for TCS, PE and, 1 TC and 1 PE in another.  The TCS with the PE is the TCS that was not already pinning.  3 or 4 days no pinning on 3rd TC tray no any of the PE.
I DON'T WANT CONTAMINANTS IN MY FRUITING ROOM
Be patient or remove?
Please tell me to chill....

mmmm... the "very light and fluffy" sounds like cobweb or another contam... and dat smell...

I know the feeling of not wanting to toss something out you put so much labor into but better safe then sorry mate. Maybe isolate that SGFC with the PEs in another room if available.

If you're trays were pinning during colinization then you're conditions must have been off. FAE, Humidity and temp must have not been on point. Maybe a trusted cultivator could jump in here and add some suggestions on those if you uploaded some pics.

Good luck! :mushroom2:

Be patient. They'll pin when they are ready. PE takes a while to pin. I spawned a pe tub before 2 pink buffalo tubs and was into my second flush of them before the pe pinned.

Thanks, I know I should just let it all ..,marinate, but can't help but ask, I've been looking for warning signs, but the smell..identical to the nice pasturized coir ...is the only warning.  The mycellium is not any other color but white, fluffy, but white.  Pics in morning, 30% colonization is not as sexy as a monotub being fully covered, but I'm holding faith!
