I've been growing shrooms for about a year now. I've had some contam problems, mostly molds and generally in the fruiting stage. However, I just innoculated about twenty pf jars with texas g. and argentinian strains. I left for the weekend and when I came back, something smelled like ass. I looked in my incubation chamber and the overwhelming smell of dead, rotten flesh almost knocked me unconscious. I have since discarded the jars but could not see any actual contam in any of them. Has anyone heard of this before? Did Ralphster send me ass spores as a joke??? WTF.
-------------------- There he goes, one of God's own prototypes--some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too wierd to live, too rare to die.
Yes it sounds like yeast or bacterial contamination. Before contacting the vendor, you should try and repeat the process. Make a new attempt but leave one jar alone, don't inoculate it, this way you'll se if the bad stuff comes in after inoculation. If it does it could be one of two things, bad syringe or improper inoculation procedure.
