Cloudcroft new mexico. I found a lot of these polypores growing off what look like spruce or maybe Douglas fur stumps. Tops are brown to red and white on the tips. The underside is white.

Reishi? These were growing more round the dirt level of stumps, with antlers turning to concks. They show vanishing on the antler parts and the underside is yellowing brown

Done with pics. Yea I was 90% sure it was some sort of reishi. I grow reishi and it had a lot of the signs. So any clues on the other lighter colored ones? They are everywhere up here, especially where they logged and left stumps.

Ganoderma applanatum seems to be the one, I'll check for the bruising. The stumps of conifers on 50 states is reassuring to. And the color with no varnish. So are all ganoderma medicinal? Are these?

Most of them are medicinal to some degree, and yours may be too,you just need to get an exact ID on them

So it seems the season isn't till fall time. The 3 red reishi fruits are bug infested when i broke em open. The other ones look good besides the flesh being white vs coffee but that can be a sign of out of seasin picking. I'll have to come back next Aug and hit up the same spots for fresh fruits, maybe bring a crew for a better sweep. There must be thousands of pounds up here.

First ones, the lighter colored ones are Fomitopsis, perhaps F.ponderosa, not 100% on my Fomitopsis species.
The second ones with the laccate appearance and stems are Ganoderma oregonense, or at least the closely related variety that grows in the southwest.

The top ones look like birch polypore but obviously not on birch Idk the rest. I can go to my reshi spots and pick last years reshi right meow. and they are still recognizable with the obvious red finish.

F ponderosa seems like a closer match, white flesh and no bruising, also high elevatin and on conifer stumps. Are they medicinal? Generally speaking aren't almost all polypores medicinals? Thanks for the info so far!
