Going from cubies to edibles

So after growing cubies on and off for the past 8 years , I've done a pretty good job I think along the years. Now I'm starting to read up on growing edible. I've done quite a bit of reading on oysters, lions mane and morels. Since morels require basically the same environment as cubies, just different substrate, I'm wondering if there is anyone with experience growing morels, and might possibly have spores or a live culture. I've done some looking online and can't find spores, just grow kits. I'm not a kit kind of guy, plus I want to do bulk indoor and outdoor grows. If anyone has spores, culture , etc I'm willing to trade cubie prints for edibles.

I think you are wrong about morels my friend, unfortunately.
They are a mycorrhizza species, meaning that the mycelium needs another organism growing in tandem with it, usually the roots of a tree.
Or so I thought, a quick google search brought me this http://www.thefarm.org/mushroom/morel.html but I have no idea the validity of it, I always thought morels were valuable because they can't be cultivated.

I wanna grow morels too.
What about log plugs? Been looking into that.
Anyone know if there's money in 10-15 logs with an edible species? I know the local grocery stores but local produce, and I think restaurants would buy like hen of the woods?
Any tips on this subject anyone?

Oysters are pretty easy to cultivate due to the speed the mycelium grows. I have my first ever oyster laundry basket outside as we speak, waiting for it to pin. I also have a couple of pioppino jars at 100% colonization, will spawn them pretty soon.
You should move over to Gourmet and Medicinal forum if you are really interested in edibles, this forum is for psycho-nauts.

Edibles are fun dude. Get your oyster game going! Very satisfying to grow your own edibles.
I'm pretty sure all the successful morel grows on this forum could be counted on 2 hands.. I could be wrong but I know for a fact that pretty much all of the morels you find in stores are foraged.

After growing oysters I am like why did I start on cubes? Oysters rip through their shit it makes cubes look like the slowest colonizers ever lol.
Morels do need the roots of a tree. You need to start a tree off with morels and plant it like that. I believe you can do the same with truffles too, provided you're in the right area for white truffles. I definitely will be doing morels one day too op, so you're not alone lol. I live in a good area for morels :P

If I were you, I'd treat the endeavor like a research project and write some notes using whatever your favorite method is for such a thing, and keep a detailed log over everything you do and tracking your expenses (if you want to profit at farmers market or grocers or something) so you do not lose anything along the way. My pet tortoise is no cultivation expert but has some experience and wants me to let you know that the hardest thing about recreating successes is not tracking them properly.
Keeping notes allows you to perfectly replicate what you do that makes your grows a success. My tortoise has fucked up growing in a sustainable cycle more than a few times due to laziness. Do not be like the tortoise.

From what I understand the grow kit morels don't taste right or they just flat out don't work.
I have plans in the future to grow morels indoors. I will report back with success if there is some. Nothing is impossible. just impassable

Didn't mean to derail a thread/get flamed for the way in which I choose to write. Perhaps I should just return to being a lurker in this community and share none of my thoughts.

I like how easy it is to "flame" someone nowadays.
Shroomery uses ssl which makes us "invisible" to some point to people watching us. Your service provider for example, cannot know you even visit the site, let alone know which account is yours.
The police can still get your information but to do so they would need some sort of court documents/permission of a judge to make the site admins give them the information they need. That is a lot of hoops to jump through so needless to say, one would need to do some really stupid shit for the police to invest that much time and energy for a bust. As long as you grow for personal use, that should never happen to you. Using SWIM will not save you anyway if you ever happen to be under the spotlight.
I reckon it is more likely for a real life "friend" to get you in trouble, which is why you should never trust folks with this stuff. I've seen people who have been joined at the hip since primary school turn on each other when they got caught with a weed plant. You never really know someone.
And this is just a little tip, but you should grow some rougher skin now that you decided to join. If you really think that what was said above is "flaming", chances are you won't last very long here. With that said, the last thing I want to do is scare/"flame" you away but if you keep being that sensitive, you won't go very long before someone makes you melt. Just sayin', it's the internet, no need to take every sentence to heart.

Certainly not taking it all to heart, I appreciate the information. I just don't want to throw anyones mood off saying anything stupid, but hey, it's no biggie to me, man. Hard to detect emotion in writing sometimes. No offense taken there, pal.
I enjoy Internet antics to an extent, for the longest time lurker I would find OTD related threads and read through just because the content is so funny to read.
