dunking Question

2 questions
1. I just finished first flush. I put the sub I submerged in a bucket in the shower. Going to leave for 12 hours then read fruit. Is it okay that I used the water straight from the tap to dunk it in?
2. Do I need to clean the sub off with anything (hydrogen peroxide, water, ect) after the 12 hours before fruiting again ? I tried to dunk 2 cakes the other day for 12 hours before birthing and they smelled like apples a few hours after going into the chamber. So I'm worried about this sub doing the same thing. Ending up like smelly apples after the dunk

Some people use it religiously with the idea that it helps prevent other mold spores and bacteria from growing, other ppl think its useless. Side note- I use 3% peroxide in my hydroponic herb garden because it actually provides more oxygen to the roots. But i do spray 3% peroxide, not diluted with added water, with a normal mister bottle, on all of my fungi projects, wether I'm doing cakes, or doing bulk.

idk whats up with the apple thing..never had that.. if your doing a bulk sub you don't need to dunk it tho (i mean this depends on your setup, but bulk sub normally retains plenty of moisture in a bin, I only mist bulk, I never have dunked bulk).

I spawned brf to 1 pound horse poo bags in vitro. Now I'm dunking for the second flush. Do I just go straight back into the bag after the 12 hours or must I do something before putting it back in fruit chamber? Like is peroxide necessary ?

i see you mentioned 12 hours, are you only supposed to dunk for 12 hours for the second flush? i was under that impression that it was supposed to be 24 hours like for the first dunk. guess if it is only 12 i need to take my two cakes that are dunking for second flush out now.

Never use peroxide in dunk water or on a cake that's fucking retarded. Use tap water. Follow the directions

Peroxide damages mycelium. It's used for very rare cobweb mold supression on bulk substrates, but honestly if you have cobweb toss it and start over rather than trying to turd polish.

I just have it in tap water. When I remove it from the dunk. (This is directly after my first flush) do I just simply put it back in the bag or do I need to do anything before that?

I'm not sure if 12 or 24 is correct. I just finished my first flush a day thought 12 hour dunk would be good.

Idk what does the PF TEK say? The directions you should be following.
It's simple dunk in water 12-24 hours rinse off with tap water. Put back in your SGFC. Never use peroxide and quit adding steps and noob ideas to "improve" things

turd polishing..... bahahaha

yeah see, i thought it said 12-24 but just wasnt sure about the second flush, because most things just say "dunk after first flush" without specifying a time. but im sure it would mkae only little difference between dunking for 12 and dunking for 24. maybe only a difference in how quick they get dry, again, and after misting.
but thanks, bodhi.

And you can't add FAE. FAE happens aromatically since the SGFC has hundreds of holes in it.
Fanning does not equal fresh air exchange. You don't need to fan at all ever and if you do fan its after you mist. Only after you mist. And it's one or two swipes with the lid 2-3 seconds.

I'm not using a sgfc. I'm growing invitro in a 1 pound poo bag.
