Which section would you transfer? And why not wait?

Sorry, this is my first time doing agar or even growing in general. Which section would you say had the most rhizmorphic growth? All together the culture is about the size of a quarter and it's in a 60mm petri so it's not all that big yet.

Don't listen to me but if I was making a transfer I would take a small section where the black mark is. The rest looks too whispy?
Curious to hear what others say.

Don't worry about rhizomorphic growth it doesn't mean anything.

Size of petri doesn't matter either. Make transfers when its dime sized if making transfers is what you're doing

Thanks, I'll be transferring it tomorrow to clean it up when my petri dishes come in the mail. For now I stuck it back on the shelf, it looks contam free to me so hopefully my agar to agar transfer will be successful

I'd say let it grow out more.
I typically let the myc grow out to about 40% of the dish before I start making sectors.
I prefer larger sectors compared to smaller ones. It takes more time to do it that way but in the end you could have some sexy looking monos.

Yeah, I'm going to double down and say that the leading edge, the most vigorous section should be isolated and tested for favorable growth parameters.
I know Bodhisatta has done more transfers than I have but everything I've done and studied would lead me to this.
I also looked over your agar link and found this-
'I guess my point is, it isn't important to split hairs when sectoring, as long as you are isolated away from contaminates and you are taking small transfers from the outer edge of the healthiest, strongest, and fastest rhizomorphic mycelium.'
I'm certainly not trying to split hairs but just want to learn the best methods as does everyone here.

The leading edge of the fastest growth is a good place to start. But healthy is all you need to worry about. You can't tell performance by looking at mycelium so really doesn't fucking matter you will have to test it to find out
