Growing morels help

I found some fresh morels today and want to create a slurry to use under my apple trees. It says to blend wood chips, flour, and morels, fresh water then at to a bucket with molasses then aerate it. I was wondering if I could use honey instead of molasses and how long I should aerate it.

I'm in Texas and it seems like they're very scarce in this area.....I'm guessing it has to do with the type of soil here....we have clay not dirt....I found a total of 10 last year

I am going to let it aerate another 24 hours I added a lil more water and molasses. It now has a froth on it which I assume is a good sign kind of like when you activate yeast it froths. I was not able to start a fire because of all the rain I may give it a go tomorrow.

I mixed the spores with fresh ash and spread them today. If any of the wood chips start to grow mycelium I will take some picks and then again after they bloom.

When i lived in indiana i once dug up a morel, a yellow to be exact. I planted in my back yard next to an elm. I put a jar i used for sun tea over it. It grew until it was about 12 inches tall. I cut it and ate it. The next year there where dozens around that tree and year after year just more and more. The key was digging up about 8 inches of soil. It had these root like white things in it. You should try that. It worked for me.
