You never Know, Bigheart. . Some people need to move, sell things.. etc.. you may come across some elder-plants in life. . besides the ones you are starting. I too Love seeing some of the older plants. I love that Pachycereus image that Mostly Harmless shared.. I have always loved the big torch Cacti. In my area, the outdoor environment is not kind to many varieties of cacti. . So, most of what I see, from other people in my area are smaller varieties. It Thrills me to see the big, and the Old. Keep posting people.!! (smile)

You and I live in similar areas, and like you said no one has cacti or if they do it's just a little globular that never gets watered and sits by the window. People freak when they come over to my house and see my 4 foot tall Pachanoi because it's something that simply doesn't exist in our area. It's a pain in the ass to move it though, I have no idea how I'm going to move it back inside if it grows another foot or two this year...
Back on topic, I have been keeping my eyes out now that I have the bug and someday I probably will score a nice older specimen

I have some plants in their twenties - which I could post here - but not a lot of point as kizatzhaddarak has me on his ignore list. His choice. But I believe in free speech and a free exchange of views and would never ignore anybody - if I had a problem I would try to resolve it. But I cannot talk to anyone who has decided to ignore me.

I once had one like that - when I lived in Scotland- but it was so cold and the daylight was so poor.
Much better for my plants here in sunny Spain - where they sit on tables on my roof in the best light going. !!!

Not raised from seed though. I would have been an infant if I did.
Ariocarpus fissuratus???? I have a venerable one of these - but just a youngster at a mere 17.
