Is this cube mycelium or some white mold?

The spores are from really old prints (7+ years) in case that makes a difference. Both of these pics show transfers from the same agar, and both are 6 days of growth.

If those are transfers on the bottom pic, I’d say definitely mold.. the growth shouldn’t be that scatter-brained

Aw man, okay. At least I didn't inoculate my grain with it. And yeah, they are transfers.

Thank you.

Looks like mold. I'm also going off of the overly fast colonization time. PF jars don't fully colonize in a week.

That's why I'm concerned! The rest of my jars have a dime size section of mycelium showing at most. And it's too small to really get a good look at to compare it, structurally.

Hey y’all been a while. So im having some issues with my agar plates. They aren’t looking the greatest. Its been about a month for some and the rest are dated.
So i had a SAB and did everything sterilized and sanitized as possible but i think i still got some contam.
Do you think any of these arr still good to go into my grain jars?

I wouldn't put any of those to grain. Are they germ plates or transfers?

This is my first BRF grow, and I was hoping to get some advice, and learn from y'all. Prepared and sterilized the jars ~10 days ago. Inoculated 8-9 days ago.

Most of them look like this. I think this is healthy mycelium? These jars are about 50% colonized, at the moment.

Two jars look like this. They're cloudy, but I don't see any obvious discolorations or distinct shapes. Is this ok? If not, what's wrong / what can I do about it?

I think this one is obvious contamination due to the discoloration. Do I just get rid of it / remove it from the others?

Thanks!

Other than the green one I think you're looking fine.

only present on the bottoms of the jars. never seen it before, what are these tiny red spots? they seem to be surrounding small dark/black spots that look like coffee grounds- but i don't use coffee in prep anymore so idk whats happening honestly.

they are sort of stuck to the glass as well- besides that the grains and myc look A+ so far so would hate to have to trash these now

Are you using metal lids? Looks like rust deposits I have had before with metal lids.

:whathesaid:
It's rust. I had the same problem on many jars and freaked out for a bit before finding an answer. I had drilled the gas-exchange holes on the metal lids of new jars right before filling them up with grain and PCing.

Here is a close up of the 2 "cloudy" jars. In terms of coverage, they are significantly ahead of the clearly "healthy" jars, which is leading me to look for signs of contamination (perhaps where there is none?).

Inoculated ~9 days ago -

Today I noticed some very slight discolorations (vs. the usual clear white). There is some yellow smudge/tint, although I'm not sure if that is just from wet vermiculite? Is the arrow pointing to early signs of mold? Or is it too early to tell with this one?

I didn't notice any blue/greens in this one, but it does seem more "wet" than my "healthy" jars. Is this a potential issue?

Thanks!

Those both look like a mix of mushroom mycelium and cobweb mold. I hope I'm wrong, but the stuff with the non-directional steel wool texture looks like the cobweb. The organized stuff growing radially out from some origin is mushroom mycelium. In your photo it's more white and rhizomorphic.

I'm curious what others think, though.

Thanks! Non-directional seems accurate, and it did look different from my obviously "healthy" jars. Is the best course of action to separate them and observe? Or should I just dump them?

I had the exact same thing show up in one of my jars. I'm pretty sure it's cobweb mold. Here are some pictures.
All my other jars looked like this..

Suspected Cobweb jar looked like this..
