Hi all! So I ordered a premade box. I was lazy at growing and ran out of shrooms and needed some asap. I figured that before I created my jars, these would already be ready for the first harvest.
After like 24h, the box started showing this. Is this cobweb, did I got shipped a contaminated box, is the box a goner? Tnx < 3

Total noob still learning. Is this mold or myc? Is there a guide so I can learn to ID the difference?

Not a veteran, but looks like a lot of myc genetics which is common from multispore.
At this point it is difficult to even see contamination if it is in there. Things like bacteria like to hide.
Transfer a couple of the leading edges to new plates and observe the growth from there. You could think of it as zoomimg in. Right now you're at 10x magnification, next plate will be 100x etc...
Tldr: looks good to me. Wouldn't put it to grain yet, but you're on the right track.

Hi guys, started my 2nd culture and this time I didn't have syringes ready to inoculate so I made my own from spore prints. After 1 week I started seeing these black spots in almost every jar, is it black mold? Am I fucked and will have to throw everything away? In case it is black mold, what could have caused the contamination? I didn't flame the syringe after every inoculation (yes, absolutely stupid) so I'm afraid it could have been that (used glove box, btw).

Did you consider your spore print was contaminated?

My first guess would be dirty syringe first then after that the glovebox. If those were my jars i would throw them out.

Yeah. Probably because I forgot to flame it after each injection, or maybe the air inside the glove box was contaminated as well.
If those spots don't grow would you throw them as well?

Did you consider your spore print was contaminated?
Maybe. It would be really bad bc I have some spores left I was planning to use in case I throw these out. What is the best way to store them to avoid contam?

Hey homie`s, I`m having some issues identifying if this is bacteria I`m dealing with. Every one of my culture plates I got from an APE swab look like this. there is clear sectoring so im thinking its just very different mycelium than what I`m used to.
When it goes to jars though it ends up looking like this, which really convinced me its bacteria because of the uncolonized grains pressed against the glass, how thick it looks, and some of the jars i left for a while continued to fuzz up nearly to the lid and almost turn into solid bricks.
I ended up putting some in a mini mono and everything seems to be looking fine with the pins coming in, so now i have no idea if this is clean myc or not...

I have some odd fungus growing I think. At least, it doesn't look like the P. cubensis I know... It has weird black dots in the mycellenium/hairs.

I accidentally unloaded some contaminated spawn into my monotub substrate. it smelt and looked green. I tried to remove it but it spread throughout the substrate. Stemmed to slow down was pinning started. Kind like thin licen. Thoughts?

Hi. I hope i'm in the right place? I'm having a heck of a time navigating Shroomery.
I have a contamination problem in my outdoor azurescens bed. I got a good batch of shrooms last year and I thought I had removed most of the contaminate. However i'm now seeing that the contaminate did indeed make a vengeful come back this year.
Do I let the bed go? (I was lucky to find mycilium on some sticks a few years ago but maybe i can get some more, off the sand dunes somehow?)
Or, Do I try to rescue the couple of little islands i see that are still looking like they are solid azurescens mycilium? (this is what i'm leaning towards)

Sorry if i misposted or said something i wasn't supposed to. I read a lot of confusing rules and tried to keep it PC.

Look on the Brightside! You can try to save your grow by throwing the mycelium into a flowerpot with around 1:1 with potting soil. Sure it will probably contam too but you still have a decent chance at getting some fruit!

Is it safe to open a contanimated jar though? I always thought you were supposed to put them into the bin?

Hi you all!
Very new to growing. Failed my first brf cakes, but giving it another go with mazatapec cakes. The have been colonising for 2 weeks and seemed to be ready to go. So opened one of them up and there's lot a fluffy mycelium. Are they any good?
