Worked great, ive seen heaps of threads on here about it (where I got the original idea)..... I dont post pics sorry

It’s convenient that you don’t post pics, seems in keeping with most of the H2O2 warriors. It’s against their code to take pics I guess or something.

LOL.  :hehehe:

I got my first spawn bag that I’ve had for 5 weeks now (I didn’t cultivate it). I travelled for a week and after I came back, looks like my batch is fighting off a contamination, potentially mold? Also, I think they may have not had enough air initially because of the slow growth. Please see the pictures below. Is this looking salvageable?

The best bag grows I've seen involved the person opening up the bags in front of a hood for FAE. Yours are suffocating, hard.

Crap... The bag has a thin cloth filter patch on it for FAE, I guess it’s not doing a great job. I did start opening the bag a few times a day, in case they were not getting enough air. Any other tips for fixing the situation? Poke small holes on the filter patch or replace it altogether?

I would make some sliths at the top of the bag, dunno vertical or horizontal would work better in your case.
depending on the size of the sub how many cuts for FAE.

Don't worry about contams at this point, once its colonized without any bs it's resilient to the elemnts. obviously don't kick it about
I recently choked some shoeboxes unintentionally and all came whimpy mush but np sencond flush was much better.

Some kind of myco parasite?

And what is this other 'myc'?

Jar1

I know what’s wrong... you used corn.

What are you using for GE (gas exchange)? Do you have a filter on top of those jars for there to be gas exchange happening? If not than that may be an issue.

Hey everyone.

I'm new to the board and have been lurking under a different username for about a month. Finally got a little more secure and decided to post some things that have been going on in my grow.

I have some cubes growing via PF tek and that's all good. I've been reading through a lot of the posts by Bodishatta and one of them is about how you should really start with agar. Great. I bought everything I figured I'd need and poured some plates using 10g AA, 10g ME, and 1g yeast.

Everything was good until I inoculated with some swabs and a couple syringes 3 or 4 days later. Three of my twelve plates that I did began to grow bubbles that started clear and eventually looked like snot. Most are perfectly circular. Did some research and it looks like it could be bacteria or yeast. The problem is that they are only on three of the twelve plates and all twelve have yeast in the agar mix. So bacteria i guess? or something else? Any help would be appreciated.

Good news is shortly before I posted this I found some Mic growing in the center of the dish and it looks like I can transfer tomorrow.

Yes, all these spots are bacteria colonies. I don't see any myc growing on these plates, except for maybe the second plate, the faint horizontal line in the middle. If you streaked there, that is.

Thanks guys for the help. I figured it was something gross. As far as the mic goes when I took these pictures it was barely visible. I don’t think the camera picked it up or my photography skills are shit. It’s visible now. I’m going to post pics later of the mic before and after the transfer.

Hey guys,

Im doing my first grow ever, popcorn tek and coconut choir as a substrate.. as simple as it can possible get i guess...

Before, someone said my popcorn was contaminated but i decided to go to next phase anyway..
Everything went well, i think but now i start to wonder because its so fluffy and keeps reaching for the substrate on the side, growing pretty quick i think...

Later i read about its not very good that the mycelium is reaching all the way up, and if so, i should put some more substrate, a very thin layer on top... So i did...

Im kind of worried as fuck that i screwed up something that was alright, but im also worried that all this white aint mycelium..

What do you guys think?

Thanks!

Hmm, it does right ? :frown:

Even the last 2 pics?

The other pictures doesnt really look like that in real life. They look much more "moldier" in the camera :frown:

Alright, i will treat it like its not moldy and see what happens..

The smell, is not the same as when i first opened the jar of popcorn, which really did smell like mushrooms..
This is another funky smell, little bit more to the sour.. But still a little like mushrooms.. I think it may be the coco choir, which smelt litte sour from second they got moist..

My other jar which probably got some black mold, but it seems like the mycelium started to grow around it and the black mold didnt spread..
i threw away the popcorns with black, and started it with substrate.
Saved some popcorns which seemed alright and put them grain to grain in a new jar with corns...
I wish i could get atleast one batch alright :frown:
Thanks

Anyone recognize this lovely mold? I found it on an MEA plate that had been forgotten on the back of a shelf for a few months. I'm reasonably sure I never plated anything on it. I've seen my fair share of contamination, but never seen anything quite like this... It looks like a bunch of tadpoles...
