The tub is trash if trich shows up before any primordia even form. Sometimes you can hold it off long enough to get fruits if it's already pinning but you're not going to get to that point with that tub. The trich that you are seeing fruit on the right sub of the tub will consume the rest in a matter of days - toss it in the compost pile before it dumps more spores in your home and wash your tub out with soap & water so you can start a new project.

Mycelium or Contamination [Re: Pastywhyte]

The jar on the left is Blue Meanie, the one on the right is either BM or Golden Teacher (the label fell off). Opinions welcome on whether either jar shows promise. One reason I ask is that I misread the PC tek instructions and followed the stove top instructions - pc'ing the jars for 7 hours. I was worried the BRF/Verm would be too dried out to be viable.

That's a hell of a PC cycle. Since it's pf tek it's probably not going to hurt to overcook it like that. I just hope your PC didn't run dry.
The left jar looks ok. It should be good enough to finish colonizing, hopefully. It's still a bit bacterial, but minor enough for pf tek to handle.
The right jar looks extremely bacterial, and it probably isn't going to finish. You could try to top fruit it, or you can birth it and remove the whole uncolonized part.
Those tall jars aren't very good for pf tek. It will usually stall out before it can finish. Wide mouth half pints are recommended. I think you're lucky the first one is as close to finishing as it is.

Thanks Kinoko314. Maybe I should have posted on Cultivation Confessions after my PC mistake.
I have now ordered 6 half pint jars which I will receive tomorrow, and I will start over. I will leave the left jar alone for the moment and hope for the best.

Hi everyone. First grow. PF Tek. In one full colonized jar I see this. Is this is a contamination?

It looks like a big piece of verm stuck to the side. Pop it out and get a good smell/pic.

Yeast showing up a couple of days after shaking a spawn jar. Possibly caused by grains being sterilized in a faulty pressure cooker.

This contam is showing up after a few days. It’s been in both inoculated and uninnoculated rye jars. Can someone identify it so I feel better?

I’m running a 90 min PC at 15 psi so I’m still working on identifying my source. It’s grey and fuzzy with maybe a slightly sour smell. Grows fast and creates condensation on the inside of the jar.

Thanks for the advice on the PC time and I’m using the synthetic paper sticker filters from Amazon. The strangest thing, I open the jar to take the top down picture yesterday in front of the flow hood but who cares about contamination right? I put the lid back on and set it aside to be dumped today. When I looked at it this morning, they whatever contamination growth was almost bright white like mycelium. I am so confused!

He said sfd stickers. Some have said theyre too thin to trust. However I tested 3 jars with them and after 2 months with periodic shaking, no contam or other growth in jars, so it could seem they are legit.

That's why I want to see the sfd. There's micropose vs cheap Chinese sfd. Amazon sell many different kinds and I know from experience the cheap sfd will often fail, not all jars but occasionally they fail and you get that mold starting from the top of the jar down.
