I inoculated 4 brown rice flour + vermiculite jars about 43 days ago. They are all white, so I think there's no contam inside. Only one reached full inoculation so far. So I'm a bit worried about how long it's taking.

Now one of the still not fully inoculated jars started pinning, should I already move to fruiting or still wait for full inoculation?

And most importantly, is that a sign of contamination?

Hard to tell from those pictures. If you could get ones with better lighting it might be easier to tell and ideally, to see how wet looking they are and if there's any yellowing or odd growth, but it seems like bacteria. What sort of lid and how were they sterilized?

Fruits were picked right after these pics thank you
Sub process:
Boiling hot water poured into a bucket with coir, setting lid back on allowing to cool. Then adding gypsum + dry shredded poo and mixing. Then I spawn to bulk. Wondering if it could be my grain too, currently using horse oats however I did find a couple jars that had sus growth. Can it have spread jar to jar?

Usually yeast on agar indicates sloppy procedure. Possibly having your hands over the plate could do it.

Yeah, Pasty is the man. After coming back to this after all these years, his teks are the ones that got Krombipulos back into this the right way.

Although he does blame him, for now having 500 PP5s kicking around the house, which the wife just adores.

Contam in Jars
Hi, all. I could really use your help! I inoculated some rye jars with a MS syringe of Ps. mexicana var. tampanensis for a truffle grow and found this growing on them (photos also on IMGUR).

They're in ziploc twist n loc jars that were PC'd for 70 mins at 15psi. All work done in SAB, gloves, 70% alcohol on gloves and my arms, 10% bleach sprayed inside.

The lids have a .22 micron SFD with 3M backing, same as I use on my glass jar lids. Is this ok with twist n loc lids, or a potential source of failure? Can I/should I add a SHIP for cleaner inoculation? Wasn't sure if that was possible with this kind of jar/lid.

Same Syringe On Agar

Here's what that same syringe looks like on agar. Images also available on IMGUR

Clearly something going on here. The whole plate has a thin coat of something (mold?) that the myc is fighting off.

This super fluffy stuff is growing up to the lid of the dish. Is this cobweb/other mold mixed in with mycelium? Is it all contam?

Here is a transfer from that same plate.

Two other plates I prepped from the same syringe. Anything salvageable here?

Any help identifying and any advice would be very much appreciated!

yeah u can use these containers. many people squirt while lid is up, usually not MS but it should be no biggie if you can keep your hands to yourself.
I think you have a couple of grains stuck in the rim of the lid, that aint good man.
