Hi guys This is my first ever grow of any kind of shrooms. The strain is cambodia and I started with syringe spores. I am not sure if this is cobweb mold or mycelium. It spreads on the surface as well as in the substrate. I use palm fiber mixed with vermiculite and some rice flour. (The best thing I could find at home)

Should I remove it?
Thanks for any help Have a great day

Sorry pal, that is cobweb mold indeed. You can try to remove it and treat with hydrogen peroxide or bleach, it can help to manage it, but it will eventually take over.

Hi guys !
Today my box start the fructification But i ve seen something that i don't have seen somwhere else in my past..
For me it doesn't look a contamination because it is only a cap that is greyish. It is a kind of degenation ?
And any of you know what does the spot on the cap mean ? I suppose it is due to the growth condition
Thank you very much for your answer !

There's more then just fusarium in there, looks like a water color painting.

If you did it correctly with the dry verm layer, you don't need any tape at all.

You’ll have to excuse me I’m a newbie at using this I’m not sure if this is the appropriate place to post a picture. I’ve been having problems identifying if this is a mold or fungus any help would be appreciated thank you

Colour is suspiciously gray, I vote on cobweb, but wait for some others to chime in.

Hello everyone, I Was fortunate enough to get into this hobby just before 2020 started, and was brought here by a friend that is active trading and cultivating friendships here in the forum. I was brought in since I am a microbiologist where we work and he was having troubles with contamination on agar. All went well until about 4-5 weeks ago when either Trich or penicillin got into my situation to a heroic extent. The contam pics are a representation and in when grain is dumped that is contaminated to green dust is very lightweight and completely airborne, I have removed the fan in my incubator and thoroughly cleaned it out with Lysol IC Quarternary. I dumped all of my grain and started from scratch with new culture on agar, went to grain and all was well, made a grain to grain transfer and it is back. I have set up air control plates in my laminar flow hood that do not show contamination, I see the contam pop up in jars and bags of rye processed on different days in an all American 50x for 90 minutes minimum at 15+ psi. Is it possible for rye berries to “hide” the contam from the effects of the steam sterilization? It seems that the contam comes up if the grain does not colonize completely and rapidly, it takes a while to show, and the first time is showed it’s ugly head was after the incubator hit about 80 degrees for a day or two during an unfortunate temperature spike. Any ideas would be welcome, sorry for the length, wanted to be thorough. The most important part is thank you in advance for any input.

This is a panaeolus cyanescens spore agar plate. Pans are not rhizomorphic like cubensis so the white fluff is mycelium and the other darker nasty looking spot is god knows what but definitely bad and not mycelium

Here is another pan plate that has a suspicious look to it. There is a clear halo surrounding the mycelium. Has anyone else ever seen this before? https://files.shroomery.org/files/20-20/929863521-0512200955a.jpg

First time grower! they look all blueish on the sides. Does not look like sth "on top" of the mycelium but more like a skin quality. Or is it contam? it seems to get more blue everyday! what to do?

Looks like your agar may be pretty soft. Looks like the mycellium is going deep instead of running on top of the surface.

That looks like a hard case of overlay. I heard its from way too much moisture or change in humidity.
