I'd spawn separately or in an outdoor pot or bed. Something's better than notta

I recently dealt with trich, although mine didn’t get to the green stage up top. If you were already pinning I’d say isolate and treat, but if you don’t already have some decent pins or fruits on the way… maybe bury these boys outside. Some older users recommend salt and iso for surface trich to slow it down, and that worked really well for me. It basically dissolved the stuff up top.
The problem with trich is that what you’re seeing isn’t all of it. It’s inside. So you can’t kill it or cut it off, only manage the surface.
Probably at this point I’d bury it and start another project.
Yup, anytime I see a cake starting to trich I wet a paper towel, drape, and pick whole thing up. You can make a spot outside to bury though and still be successful

Right, burying it allows the myc to escape and do it's thing. Inside the trich is just too fast

theshroomwomb said: Hey everyone, would love to get your opinion on this grain bag. Inoculated on 5/25, took exactly a month to fully colonize (6/25). I've been waiting on substrate supplies so it's been sitting in a cabinet on top of my fridge all this time looking perfectly white and happy. I was worried I wouldn't be able to spawn it for a while so I put it in my fridge (in a clean trash bag loosely tied) on 7/4. I checked it the day after and noticed these spots on it from out of no where. I took it out of the fridge permanently and have it back in the cabinet waiting it out. It was fully colonized when these appeared and they have remained about the same for nearly a week. What are your thoughts? Throw it out or go ahead and give it a try? This is only my second time growing, first time trying grains. And my only bag so I'm crossing alllll the fingers but also learning a lot already (like be prepared next time!). Thanks so much everyone <3

The verm I got is like this too. No need to buy a diff kind (if you can even find that in a b&m anymore). I just spin mine a few times in the blender, works great!

Nope, you can shake as hard as you need. Too many shakes after full colonization and you might start getting diminishing returns.

I think I'm going to top fruit it, take whatever I get, and give up on this culture... I've spent way too much time on it. Probably should have given up on it a while ago.. but it was from the best tub I've grown so far, both in wight produced and potency.. first flush was 500g wet from 1myco qt spawn.. but every clone I took from it, no matter how many transfers, has been a shit show
however I did manage to get a batch of pf tek cakes from LC I made from it. They're starting to fruit now, so maybe all the time I spent on it won't be a total loss
Maybe drop a single grain on a puck let it grow a little and then sandwich pour some agar on top. I'd hate to see your time and work be wasted For my next clone in going to try the needle biposy.

Sometimes PFs can take a bit to finish up. IME they eventually do and you'll still get fruits. Glad you went this route. MS are notoriously bacterial and PF tek works with that. I say let them ride for now and get you some of the wide mouth half pint jars. The shorter height helps with faster colonization
Edit: always good to have staggerd projects running
