you can get cheap 1L canning jars at wilko's. only problem is that they are not wide mouth but that isnt a big deal at all.

Wilko's Wild bird seed bags sorts me out for grain spawn for aages. 12 quid for something like 10kg.

can someone give me a link for those 23QT PCs pls?

Yes will only use wide mouth jars myself, its not very fun smashing all your jars to get the cake out :facepalm3:

Atleast it was recycled

That only applies with PF tek though really. If you do monotubs, its not a problem at all.

i'm pretty noobish myself. I've only recently done my first monotub - here
and i actually found it easier than pf tek. its pretty low maintenance. I don't think i'll bother with pf tek anymore.

I have seen sooooo many people say this. I think I'll be doing a mini mono soon.

Yeah i must take the next step soon, just want to master the jars first, im on my first grow atm, and wasnt even sure if the white growing on my cake was myc or contam  lol it seems pf tek gives the smallest yields, so i must learn at some point.....

pf tek is good for learning. if youre not sure then its best not to jump into monotubs because when you fuck up then its a waste of a lot of ingredients compared to pf tek. I only did a couple of pf tek grows before getting into monotubs. I just read as many monotub teks as possible until it sank in and after the first try, it feels quite natural now.

at the same time, i was reading about agar. i cheated a little bit and got premade powder that has potato dextrose combined with agar so making up dishes is quite straight forward. i bought the mix quite cheap on amazon. after my first monotub grow, i chose the best fruit and took a sample from that to go to agar as my cloned culture. these days i've just been working with that and trying to do another monotub with my cloned culture.

yeh man, one or two mini monotubs are a great idea. its a good amount in terms of harvest and doesnt take too much space. if you get into agar and cloning, you can test your cultures in the minimonos in order to sure of the best/most desired genetics.

Yeah, I am already doing agar =] it's super cool. I am really interested in it. Made up my first pasty plates a few days ago. It's way easier  than it sounds at first. But yeah, gonna keep making more and more to get more practice. These first ones were MS but as soon as I get some good mushrooms from this first grow, in gonna make a few prints, and also do some clones with agar. Can't wait =]

these are my agar pics from my clone....

they were pics from a few weeks ago, this was after their first transfer. the mycelium became more uniform after a couple more transfers, i've just kept it going with the transfers. excited to see how it'll turn out when i do my next grow!! i cloned the best looking, fastest growing, earliest growing mushroom out of my MS grow.

Glad youre into agar already. get on the monotub train!!! choo chooooooooooooooo!

Heh.. Yeah those are nice man. Once I get better at agar, and better at my sterile process, and everything, I am going to get some Petri dishes to pour to so I can have some beautiful plates =] I really love agar already and literally just started. I see all the benefits already and am excited to continue with it. What I am also super excited about is cloning my first big, fast growing mushies like you are talking about. Another thing I'm super excited for is getting this 90 day thing and getting into the market place so I can trade my spore prints and whatnot for all sorts of different strains and all that good stuff. All I have to trade right now is agar =p hahaha. But yeah. Looking forward to trading, and giving and recover prints.

yeh man they are so beautiful. its a shame i can't view my plates from the top.

ahh yeh i see you are truly a newcomer! welcome! once you get into the market place, you can probably even find a way to send cultures in the post in smaller containers. or yeh, swaps and prints! by the time 90 days passes, you'll have all sorts of things to share i'm sure!

Anyone know where us forsaken Europeans can get a blender like the "oster" without getting anal bleeding from the P&P?

Been looking at ebay for a while now, shit is expensive and it doesn't look like there will be any good deals. Don't even get me started on the Waring ones, that shit will vaporize your butthole altogether.

Also, if anyone has a good online source for pp5 plastic bags I would be forever in his/her debt, I would probably even consider eating the cheese between your toes.

Naw but seriously, any autoclavable bag source with/without a filter would be much obliged. And darn stainless blender, are those 2 things too much to ask on this god forsaken continent?
