Where to stick jars after inoc....
    #2311881 - 02/07/04 03:51 PM (13 years, 10 months ago)

Well i finally recieved my syringe of eq today!!

I just finished inoculating it, and i need a place to put it. I have a place that keeps at a steady 81 degrees, but it is full of light all the time...

can i put them in a like a shoe box or something to where the light would barely penetrate?

is light a very big issue with colonization?

one last thing, can the container i decide to use be sealed, like a rubbermaid bin perhaps?

Thank you!

you need to put it in an incubator. complete darkness is key for colonization, plus heat in the low 80's.

How about airflow? Using a black bucket with lid, should i snap the lid shut? Or leave it half off or cracked for airflow?

i don't think you need airflow, i just leave 'em in the box they came in.

Using a waterproof heater to keep it at 78-82 degrees, which is under the bucket in water, I have it cracked now, so some air can get in.

I cry bullshit! jars colonize just fine in anything but direct sunlight (never tried that, seems like a no-no). cupboard over the fridge will work beautifully, barring that a drawer, closet shelf, hell I just got done with 9 jars sitting on my dresser the entire time..

complete darkness.. pfft

I just got my friends to chip in for one, $130 for brand new 22quart pc at Canadian Tire. Your friends just have to wait a few months before they get there half of the deal :P

I have asked if anybody wants to chip in but they just give me this dumb stare..Oh but they are definitely interested to see how it comes out I am sure they will have their hands out after my first grow but they dont want to chip in for anything and some of the supplies to do it right will run me a few bucks..I guess I am on my own with this one and those that do chip in if they do get theres free the ones that dont gotta pay haha fukkers
