Could unseasonably warm/wet weather be good for shrooms?

Ok. Firstly, I know absolutely nothing about anything. So please excuse my ignorance The weather is the UK is norotiously unpredictable, and the last few weeks have been no exception. Temperature wise, last week it was as low as 17f which is a fair bit lower than we're used to. But this week it has been unusually warm. Up to 65 degrees in some places, and very wet too. So is it likely (or indeed possible) some shrooms may appear, out of season, if this continues?

Well, I've been wondering the same thing today as well, but I'm afraid that it'll take some more time. Perhaps some liberty caps popping up somewhere, or some cyans, but don't hold too much hope. But, then again, there's only one way to find out: go out and search! Get some fresh air

Huh? No, that's not it, I suppose. It's just very hard (impossible) to say whether or not 'shrooms will pop up in your area. There's just one way to find out...

WEll there are warm weather mushrooms in the south and there are cold weather shrooms in the north and it depends on what time of the year it is and weather you are picking spring mushrooms which occur in the UK or wait until the fall species come up, P. fimetaria, P. cyanescens P. semilanceata are fall shrooms , but the P. fimetaria can grow in the spring in man made environments, although I have not heard of it being picked on lawns in the UK. It grows in Seattle and oregon and BC sometimes with the stuntzii's all year long if there is no snow. You also have P. strictipes in the lawns.
UK spring shrooms include a Conocybe and Panaeolus subbalteatus.
Later I will post an accidental ingestion of P. subb in Scotland.
