Don't just tell them the secrets of cultivation, they must first crack the DaVinci code of the search engine. Ya know, where ya put a few key words in, tick off the TC box, limit the results to one per thread, and only show the results from the last 6 years.
Now the secrets of spore germination is out for anyone following this thread to read. They would never have learned to use the search engine, it's practically written in Chinese. . .

Hhhmm really? My gardenmaster came with 8 trays. The same model also sells with 4 trays. So whats the correct number of trays?? I'm running my gardenmaster with 1 tray right now. Is yours the 1000 watt one? Top mount element or bottom?

I have to use an even number of trays with mine or the lid doesn't sit right, and it won't dry shit...

Mines the bottom element type. I should see if I can find the manual and see if it says that about the trays too. It is a beast. True story, when my furnace shit the bed this winter I used my dehydrator to heat my bedroom. Just jammed a 90 degree 2"(I think) pvc elbow into the top hole and set it on the other side of the room blowing across the room. It actually worked really well. I use the elbows to direct the funky stank air that come out of the dehydrator while drying right out a window fan. You can't smell the dehydrating shrooms anywhere else in the house but that room.

No, I have a Presto... The trays are tapered so if you put the lid on the wide topped tray it doesn't work worth a Fuck... I found this out making jerky the other day...

And that picture is on the wrong one then? It should be on the on without the handle when it's inverted. I guess. Never noticed with my presto tho but I've never made jerky. If I ever did that it probably didn't matter with shrooms.

It works with an odd amount of trays. You just need to put the lid upside down.

This is all APE TC. I did four tubs total but these are just two of them. I did actually write the spawn ratio's on the tubs. Sorry about the high resolution. Hope you all have broadband.
Tub1: Spawn Ratio 3:5
Tub3: Spawn Ratio 3:4 (I think, it might actually be 1:1 but I just wrote "3 jars" on the tub and it looks like 3 or 4 quarts of sub) I have a lot of theories about the high abortion rate on these tubs but the one at the top of my mind is that these tubs are all using CVG which just doesn't have a high enough nutritional content to support such ridiculous pinsets. It will be interesting to see if the second flush has both bigger fruits and less abortions like Eat is predicting. I also have been using a tablespoon or a little more of hydrated lime in all of my pasteurization water so the higher PH could be a factor but this sub was prepped on a scale more than 3 times the bucket tek so I can't see the PH swing being that high. RR has written that myc will even enjoy PH of up to 11 so Any thoughts? I just think this culture over-whelms itself. It just doesn't have enough energy to nurture all of those pins and strictly speaking a pinset like that just doesn't appear naturally in the wild (I think) So help me I am going to figure out this culture and learn it's secrets. I've never seen anything pin so aggressively before. EDIT: Also I do not recommend this culture if you value your lower back muscles. Tub 3 took soooo fucking long and so much careful attention to harvest. I alternated between using a scalpel and a long box knife for the harvest. Had to take the sub all the way out. Tons of tiny little fuckers.

It's my first post, I show you my B .

Why are you running the dehydrator with empty trays. While it will still work, it will work faster if you remove the extra trays and wasted space for the air to cool down before getting to the mushrooms.
I was afraid it might be too hot and destroy some psilocybin.
I don't know at witch temperature it start to degrade so I decided to play it safe, no hurry anyway.
My mushroom won't lose potency even if my drier it at the highest temperature ?

You won't lose psilocybin until over 428°F. Psilocin degrades with oxygen and water, which is why it's so important to dry them quickly. I always throw mine on max (165) and don't have problems. Indeed, I'd picked the same fruits out of the same patch and the ones that got zapped are at least 3-5x stronger (ovoids) than the ones that I let go for 12 hours on low. I had another instance of Psilocin loss on another patch (azures) just from the water coming in from the bay. Get them dry fast.
As below:

Shdwstr said: Everyone wants scientific proof
Here it is!
Notice the temps listed 220C - 228C, That's 428F - 442F and it's the melting temp only.
If you take a solid and raise it's temp to its melting point, it becomes liquid. Return that same liquid to it's solid temp and... you get the same original solid (it is not destroyed) So... Psilocybin IS NOT DESTROYED at temps as high as 442F
Notice the temp for Psilocin, and that it is only measured in Methanol. That is because in water... the oxygen molocules of the water would oxidize it and desrtoy it. (Not the heat) So... when you dry your shrooms, The active ingredients of Psilocybin and Psilocin are exposed to oxygen destroying the Psilocin but not the Psilocybin, no matter what the temp is.
Keep in mind that this only refers to the chemical form... not live mycellium.
Lesson over, class may now eat their science projects
