ah thanks for putting them back up! unfortunately mine look nothing like this. I'm hoping its just overly wet grains causing mine to look pretty different.

Here's pictures of the Azurescens that have been moved to a larger jar. Wow. The white is just running over the wood chips. Can't tell you how slow the grain was compared to this. The woodlovers love being back on wood... and that's true too in a way considering that ultimately the spores came from a cap that once had it's roots in wood.
I love this species and I believe there's a connection to us and the mushrooms. Yes, strange... but it is gifts like the power of mushrooms that could truly help change this world for the better. And not just the mystical experience - mushrooms are so vital to our habitats. I'm happy to live in Oregon being a green state. Let's make the world better one step at a time and start taking care of the environment. Make a lot of woodlover patches all over hahahaha!

Was a little eager. It was a full moon and I'm glad I opened a jar. Lovely nighttime life changing experience.
I chose to trip and if I wouldn't have I would not be here. Perhaps it is bittersweet but maybe it is things like these that help us live a life that will ultimately benefit others.
Ultimately it is the gods who endow these beautiful dreams to us and to the universe the respect is due. Maybe its not so much the 'chemicals' that change our mind as it is the world around us that changes when we trip.
I started the night inside trying to listen to music on a computer and watch music visualization thinking it would be 'cool' on a trip. The technology bored me and made me feel cramped. I went outside. Ahhh. so nice. The trees looked like giant roots that were growing into the canvas of the sky. The black tree frames would sometimes look like stamped paint over the clouded Oregon sky and would drip ever so slowly. So beautiful.
I have no idea if it was windy out. Maybe it wasn't. But the trees danced. The branches would move like a kaleidoscope, crossing in and out of each other.
The clouds would fall back and re appear. Sometimes I would see the full moon. Then late, very late, that night I returned outside to see the clouds in wonderful patterns. They were thinning out. Image what the seashore looks like when it meets the ocean. There are ripply edges of sand. The clouds looked like that. So beautiful. I sat outside and played a flute. It was delightful to hit the high notes. The sound would echo for what seemed to be miles. And I could never tell if it was the echo that came first of the sound of the flute. Maybe some far of sound was truly what taught me the songs of that night.
Beautiful night.

Alright... progress update:
Black jars are about a half quart but I had a lot of them. Pickle jars are about a quart and a half I'd like to say.
One jar of the two original Tampanensis has been harvested. One jar of the two Galindoi has been harvested. One quart jar of Cyanescens has inoculated a one gallon jar of apple wood chips. One black jar of Cyanescens has inoculated a quart jar of apple wood chips (which has now been used to inoculate a wooden box consisting of a cedar frame, four chunks of birch log, alder woodchips, and a layer of dirt and a few miscellaneous moist plant like moss and little weed things). One black jar of Azurescens has inoculated a pickle jar of apple wood chips.
There are two Mexicana jars still going (very slow growth so far.) There is one jar of Galindoi. There are three jars of Tampanensis; two original, one LC. There are three tiny jars of Galindoi mycelium liquid (for inoculating other jars.). There is one liquid culture batch of Mexicana. There is one liquid culture batch of Tampanensis (However, this LC may be contaminated as a filter bag I inoculated with it became moldy. First I successfully inoculated a quart jar and that Tampanensis is growing wonderfully now. Perhaps, due to my lack of contamination resistance hardware {no flow hood, glove box, or otherwise... my method is to soak paper towels with alcohol then cover the jars and this method has actually worked very well so far with every other jar EXCEPT this ONE!}, I had stumbled upon a contamination in the air that is either in the bag alone or also in the liquid culture. Needless to say, I am going to test this liquid culture once again on a small scale to asses its viability. If it is still viable, I hope to keep it going for a long time.) There are two quart jars of Azurescens. There is one quart jar of Cyanescens.
At first I attempted to make LC of Azurescens, Cyanescens, Galindoi, and Mexicana. However this failed due to the fact that I was using the honeywater method and added far too much honey. HOWEVER AGAIN! The crazy thing is that the ONLY species to survive this soup of high sugar water was the Mexicana! Somehow it grew regardless of the oversaturation of honey and is in a nice block. I don't have a blender. I just us a meat injector to suck up bits of LC and inoculate. It is a fairly stable method and has worked fine for me.
What I am working on now:
As stated earlier: the Cyanescens has been placed outside in one case (from black jar to quart jar to outdoor patch). The another quart jar has successfully inoculated a one gallon honey jar full of apple woodchips.
The Azurescens has inoculated a pickle jar of wood chips and is growing so happe [=!
At the moment... I am going to pressure cook tomorrow: two pickle jars, three quart jars, and four black jars... all are RYE.
The black jars may be small for stone growing but I think it will be nice nonetheless. They will be able to sit for a while and can be harvested whenever. They can be aged for. And because the harvest will be smaller it will be more useful for eating fresh instead of dried. All of the above jars will be for stones... Tampanensis, Mexicana, Galindoi.
So there will be a LOT of jars.
I'll be checking on the Cyanescens patch and taking pictures... maybe with the weather here there will be a small fruiting before spring!
Of course I will never eat nor condone the use of any mushrooms that contain psilocybin. AND, species pictured are not of psychoactive taxa.
WHAT I AM FREAKING EXITED FOR IS TO TAKE A GALLON JAR AND HAVE GALINDOI IN IT!!!!!!! Hahahahahha AWESOME! A GALLON jar of stones..... I don't like the bags.... and I don't think the mushrooms like the plastic much either. BUT HOLY HOT FUCK!!!! I WOULD LOVE TO GO THROUGH A HARVEST DAY WITH A GALLON JAR OF STONES!!! Hahahha I just want to see what the biggest stone I can grow is! If I find a cheap source of these honey jars I'll need to get a fridgerbator set up. Ha. I don't like plastic. I like the glass.
Cheers ppl
On a side note... the size of a pickle jar is shown two posts up ^

There's also a lot of ergot in the rye I have... and yes it has been positively identified.
Wonder if it's possible (because the Galindoi jar I harvested had SO MUCH ergot in it) that I was tripping on both mushrooms and ergot. No idea if it's possible but I was a lovely trip.

Note to myself since I'm using this thread as a log:
The Galindoi was cased with jiffy mix on the 24th. Hope to see some mushrooms within 20 days. Shotgun fruiting chamber. I found a way to keep the temp between 65 and 80 and things are looking good.
Today (26th) some mycelium is already poking up through the casing. Things looking nice but can't tell everything because there's a lot of water on the walls. Humidity's good I suppose. And there should be plenty of air circulation with a fan that runs often.
If anyone has advice for growing Galindoi I would love to hear it. This will be my first attempt at growing the mushrooms.

Alright, yet another update for today the 27th.
Ok so I had two pickles jars (quart & 1/2), four black jars (1/2 quart), and three quart jars (1 quart).
Three of the black jars are inoculated with Galindoi One of the black jars is testing the Tampanensis LC for viability One pickle jar is Mexicana One Pickle jar is Galindoi Two quart jars are Galindoi And one quart jar is Mexicana
Later I hope to get the half gallon canning jars and use those for more stones.
The Cyanescens patch has mycelium flying over it. I think the mushrooms love the timber variety. There is apple, alder, and fresh birch. Going to keep looking for timbers too. The top is getting white so MAYBE there will be some Cyanescens. The temp is currently at 43 at 1AM. So... it is possible... but maybe not before spring. Anyways, will still have plenty of stones. I think the Azurescens are dying to get outside too.
Going to put some oysters out there too. Would like to try edibles.
