So...... who's heard it?
I'm so fucking excited man I was afraid new Shpongle wouldn't be as cool; afraid they had already reached their peak with Tales of the Inexpressible album, but HOLY SHIT MAN SHPONGLE III SHOULD BE THE BEST YET if the rest of it is anything like this track!!!

Its unreleased, so unfortunately I can't link you to anywhere that you could download it from.
I WOULD ENCOURAGE YOU, HOWEVER, TO SEND ME A PM IF YOU'D LIKE A LINK TO AN IN-DEPTH........ uhhhhhhhhh "DESCRIPTION" of the track - a high bitrate description All I ask is that you not link anybody else to the description - this is for just us Shroomery peeps. Once you've "read" the description, feel free to post comments on how amazing you think it might sound if you were to actually obtain the track.
PM me

I like the rainforest ambience at the beginning. And the melodious distortion on the girl's voice. The part with the guy making all the weird noises just cracked me up, it's like some cheesy sci-fi drug alien trying to talk to you lol. It's great to see shpongle's take on classic spanish guitar too, I've always loved this style. Overall I can see Simon heading in another direction, this Shpongle track has more of a "fun" side than the tribal beats from Divine Moments and ventures to take on even more musical styles. It's definitely an innovation but I could see some hardcore shpongle fans being disappointed. It seems like if Shpongle did a CD with an "other side" like infected mushroom this track would be on it.
I'm surprised I can comment this much off of Strump's description .

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said it sounded "fun". I like the way the voices are distorted a la NIN's starfuckers. The dialogue in the beginning is off the movie "waking life" where wiley's character is talking to a man about lucid dreaming. "You know I just woke from a dream aaaaaaaaaaaa and it wasn't like a typical dream it seemed more like I'd walked into an alternate uuuuuunniveerrrrse or something." "Yep itttsss real. Aaaaaaa mean technically its a phenomeennonnnn. But you have so much damn fun in your dreams. And of course everyone knoooowws, fun rules." Then comes a nice bassline from what sounds to be a fretless bass. Next comes my favorite part that I can't really describe other than rising and falling stucatto notes. They remind me of sounds from a nintendo game. A long passage with heavily manipulated voices follows as the bassline stays constant. Tribal beats and foreign singing that sounds spanish with the voice cutting out like "dorset perception". The song begins to get faster and then comes a guitar solo with shpongle noises throughout. That was a basic description as the song is 10:59. I have lots more "reading" to do.

yes be sure to read over it several more times as I see just as many tricks in that track as I do in some of my favorite Shpongle tracks..
So if anybody happens to get this track from a friend, please let us know what you think
or read my detailed high bitrate description for basically the same experience

I happened to get it off of a friend who so happened to got a really detailed description from you. It is actually surprising, really, you described every nuance so well that he was able to open up a music program and construct the song in its entirely, completely as you had described it to him. He then sent it to me.
It is amazing. It was like they took every little aspect of what makes Shpongle SHPONGLE and stuck it in one song.... they have really stopped following convential form even more so, you don't know where the crazy song is going to go!
I saw this thread and realized that I actually have headphones on right now, I was working on some of my own music.. then some seemingly simple enough progression of thoughts led up to my jaw dropping... and that was BEFORE I put the track on (haven't yet, actually, was waiting to finish this).
So ja, amazing stuff. I am staying with this guy who plays synth and has been listening to all sorts of electronic music made from the 70's on and everything... I hooked him up with Shpongle and he was excited as hell about hearing it. He listens to like Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, etc. etc.....
Anyways, tusen takk for describing it to ekomstop, man! Peace.

wow, this track alone could be a few different adventures, but they somehow make it all flow really well. It's as deep a journey as I've ever experienced in just one track, soo much going on... the tweaks are very characteristic of Shpongle, but that's what I dig, it's got continuity and also stretches the boundary of depth and how much I thought I could hear at 1 time....
I love the speech in the beginning and the spanish guitar quite a ways into it, Dorset style. man, that's good tunes.
When's this album due out?
Thanks again, Strump, for lettin me read the sneak preview...

Man, I really like this track! Like all Shpongle, headphones just seem to take it to a new level. I totally agree they seem to be taking more of a 'fun' approach with this particular song. ..going by your very in depth description, of course.

Heh, during our first 2C-I experience, I put on this track without my girlfriend even knowing it existed. She was about to do a hit of nitrous and I said "do you know what this is?" "No, what?" "Do the hit" she did it, then as I first noticed her about to fall back into the nitrous haze- "It's an unreleased Shpongle track." The biggest grin fell across her face before she fell back and the heavy beats started.
Thanks, Strump!

Whoa that description was like music to mine ears! Stupendous cut, Shpongle just keeps on evolving & elevating. That supreme organic sound, the soul in the machine that shines through in Shpongle's just as bright as ever. When the guitar first comes in it reminds me of the come-up of a psychadelic expereince. That expanding feeling in your chest, if y'know what I mean? hmmmm. Thanks bro, made my day!
Can't wait till the full album drops.

Theres something remarkable about this song, for sure. It just makes you feel good inside and out, I like the warping of the voices, and adding the crazy scary voice warps gives it good contrast that makes the happy feeling stand out more in subsequent listenings. I too, held the same worries that they just wouldn't be able to live up to their previous efforts.. but if this track is any indication of shpongle III, we're in for one hell of a treat
