Are the white stripes big in the USA,
they rave about them here but i think
there overrated, her drumming's bad.
NME magazine put her pic next to John
Bonham and Kieth Moon and people wrote
in saying what the fuck's she doing next
to the 2 greatest drummers that ever lived.

I don't think they're all that great. The vocals annoy me, and they don't even have a bassist. The guitar work is good, though.

I saw them live and your right...drumming sucks. The brother sister duo is a gimic that has got them this far. Jack Whites guitar playing is awsome though..he can shred on the thing and combined with his singing...he has some kick ass rock and blues songs.

yup, they were married then got divorced. i think the brother sister gimmick is the fucking stupidest thing ever. Jack white needs to dump that bitch and get a real good drummer and at least a bassist for gods sake.

I fuckin hate the White Stripes. While simplicity is a good thing in some cases, this case they just suck ass. horrible drumming, she can't even keep time (which is about the only thing close to being a drummer that she can do)
They're big in the US, and hugely overrated, IMO.
Jack White is a dickhead too.

white stripes are nothing new. its nothing that hasnt been done by Half Japanese, or many of the other lofi simplicity punk bands. you wanna hear some real good stuff, check out: Jet and The black keys. both very excellent bands. Jet is the most underrated rock band in the states right now.

You guys can fuck off. I went and saw the White Stripes this year and immediately bought a t-shirt and became a fan. Jack White is one of the biggest pieces of talent out there in music today. Sure, Meg functinally serves as his drum machine, but she keeps up with him... she definitely doesn't suck. She's simple, but she doesn't suck.
And they can't get a bassist... just having the two of them on stage creates a magical dynamic that makes them unique.
I definitely enjoyed their show though... veritable rock greatness... Elephant is an amazing album, too.

hey man, to each his own. Just cuz I don't like the White Stripes doesn't mean I don't like you. 
There's gotta be some bands I love that you think are overrated, and terrible, so it works out.
You know what I mean, there's always that 1 band that people like that never really rubs you the right way... I guess I've always felt that way for the Stripes.

credits due and the WS get my credit for
what they have achieved, but if you dont
like a band say it.

Jack white play's a mean guitar. The riffs sound good, and the songs are easy as hell to play.

The guitar riffs are ok, pretty simple but they have good energy I guess.
The drumming's wretched.
I'm not a huge fan :P
